The whole reason for renting this house was so my family could relax & swim in the pool in Lake George. The owner contacted me 1 hour before check in to tell me the pool was green & was being shocked. Upon entering the house, we noticed many things that were misleading from the description. It is listed as having air conditioning. There is only one window unit in the small room downstairs and only one window unit in the master bedroom upstairs. The two other bedrooms had fans in them. Using the digital thermometer in the home, it recorded 76 degrees at 7:00pm Sunday night in the bunk bed room. The home was not clean- there were bugs throughout, a full dishwasher and products left in the shower from previous renters. Most concerning was when I woke up on Monday morning and noticed the GAS fireplace was ON without my knowledge. The fact that a GAS fireplace was on for who knows how long while my family slept is beyond scary. Any young child who walked up to the fireplace door could have been burned. When I messaged the owner she asked if I wanted a refund. We left by 9:30 Monday morning after arriving at 5:00pm Sunday night. There was no way I was going to have my family stay at this property. The owner has withheld 345 of my money- refusing to cancel my reservation because she did not want to be penalized. Our family trip was ruined due to a false property listing & photoshopped pictures. I am sharing this so no one else has the horrible experience we had at this home.
