Casa Riva on the lakeshore

Located in the heart of Varenna, the apartment overlooks the Riva Grande, with a spectacular lake view, which can be fully enjoyed from the large balcony.

The apartment has just been fully furnished and consists of: kitchen, living room with fireplace and sofa bed, bathroom with washing machine and dryer, double bedroom, can accommodate up to 4 people.

All the places (bars, restaurants, shops, public services) are close at hand, within 100 meters.

Even the means of transport are easily reachable on foot: along the lakefront at 200 meters you will find the landing stage for the ferry and the boat; another 200 meters and you arrive at the train station.

The apartment is ideal both for a relaxing holiday and as a base to discover all the attractions of Lake Como!

Fantastic View

The view from the bedroom and the living room and the balcony was spectacular. We also loved hearing the waves during the night. This is a perfect apartment for two people. We sat out on the balcony every day. This would not be a good apartment for anyone who finds stairs challenging because there’s no other way to get to it.

Wonderful location!

Perfect location - walk to everything - restaurants, shops, two small grocery stores / delis. Five minute walk to the ferry to get you anywhere else. Sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine, looking at the incredible views and people watching was fabulous. And both Giorgio and Alberto were great and always around and accessible if needed. Their restaurant recommendations were spot-on. Very comfortable apartment that was perfect for our four-night stay.

Perfecto!

Our stay could not have been more perfect, the best spot on the lake with an incredible view of the lake and mountains and steps away from all the area hot spots. Giorgio and Alberto were the most gracious hosts who bent over backwards to ensure we had the best experience possible! Our apt had everything we could possibly need for the perfect stay! 10 plus stars!!

Great Location

You will not find a better location for a private stay than Casa Riva. It is positioned right in the heart of Varenna and is a great launching point for other towns on the lake as well. The bed was very comfortable and we loved waking up to the sound of water every morning. We will be back!

Wonderful location

We enjoyed our stay in Casa Bella. The view was amazing. Apartment had everything we needed to make our trip very enjoyable. Location was great close to restaurants and ferry. It does get loud at night but when we closed the doors it was fine. Having both a washer and a dryer was a nice surprise and very useful. Dryers are not easy to find in Italy. Our host son met us at the square and assisted us with our luggage also arranged transportation for our return. He responded quickly to our questions. Thank you for a unforgettable experience!

A Grand View With An Apt.

Casa Riva has an absolutely stunning view of Lake Como. We booked because of balcony facing the lake. Pick up service from train by owner’s son was a plus. Just steps to restaurants and lake. Ferry a short walk. Our only regret is not staying a couple more days. Three is not enough,

Lake Como Bucket List - Check!

Giorgio and Alberto were two fine gentlemen and took care of our needs while on our three night stay! The location was fantastic and we took advantage of the BistrĂł directly below for dinner (twice). Waking up to coffee overlooking the lake was breathtaking. The only negative are the hills/steps you have to navigate when treking out! Bring good walking shoes! I would come back to Casa Riva in an instant!

Beautifully romantic

I arrived with my boyfriend, I left with my fiancĂ©! Couldn’t have asked for a more romantic setting. This apartment was beautiful not least because of the stunning view across the lake. We were there in January and the apartment was warm and cozy and had everything we needed. Giorgio and Lorena were really helpful in our pre planning and on arrival. We were looking for somewhere to celebrate new years and they made some local suggestions. They also kindly offered to make a reservation for us at a restaurant in the village. Also on arrival telling us everywhere to go and where was good to eat. There are a couple of places right underneath the apartment and they are the only place to eat on the lake shore so it really couldn’t have been better. A great location to drive to many other places too, notably St Moritz! We loved discovering the specialities of the region, especially in Valtellina. We had a gorgeous stay and loved our idyllic apartment.

Stunning location in a friendly town

Varenna is a beautiful little town with a friendly community. Alberto’s attentiveness to our arrival and departure were terrific and he generously picked us up at the train and transported us to the apartment. The apartment was well equipped for our needs to explore the area, cook, and to travel to destinations via ferry and train. Our goal was relaxation and the locale is well suited for that in the off-season. The furnishings in the apartment were less supportive of that goal, though in season, I am sure it’s a fine place to crash for a few hours for a couple of days. We were a bit disappointed that we could not use the fireplace as that would have added to our enjoyment in the cooler evenings. Had it not been advertised, we would not have given it a second thought, but it was one of the reasons we chose this apartment. The grocer and the butcher at the Salumeria were lovely, and we had massages in town with Silvia after days of short hikes in the hills in and around Varenna. Overall a great stay, and we would return to Varenna in the off season again. Thanks for your hospitality Alberto.

Beautiful view and location!

The best views and location. We were walking distance from shops, restaurants, and the square. With 2-3 min walk. It was honestly our favorite. Alberto was also great and super responsive. Very kind and welcoming!

Great Stay!!

From check in to check out our stay was wonderful. The location was amazing with a great view of the lake. It is very close to all the restaurants and close to the ferry as well. I would highly recommend taking the ferry to Bellagio for a half day or more if you have the time! Thank you Giorgio for such a wonderful stay and picking us up from the train station as well!

Excellent location and excellent hosts. Well appointed apartment in Varenna which is near the lake boat harbour allowing easy access to Bellagio and Menaggio. Plenty of nearby restaurants and small grocer and baker.

Paradise in Varenna

Giorgio and his son Alberto were exceptional hosts. The check in process was super easy and the house is exactly as advertised. It has perfect views from the terrace of Lake Como and Menaggio across the lake. Mornings were magical on our terrace before the waves of tourists arrive at mid day. We had breakfast each morning just taking in the breathtaking views. There is a bit of noise in the evening that dies down by 11 or so and the public services are usually out cleaning the sidewalks around 8 am so don’t expect to sleep in. Make sure to make dinner reservations prior to arrival or you will be disappointed. We loved this location and will definitely come back again

Lovely lake views while also being able to enjoy hearing the lapping of the water below. This is not a place for those who need the latest in design and technology (don’t worry internet is good) but a great place to relax and feel a little bit like a local. Varenna is a great place to stay since you can easily get there via train and Bellagio and Menaggio are close by via a frequent ferry run.

Gorgeous views!!

My husband and I traveled to Varenna after dropping our daughter at university in Lugano and it was the perfect relaxing and romantic escape! Giorgio and Lorena were such lovely and accommodating hosts. They explained everything, were quick to respond to any questions, and were generous as they gifted us some treats and wine. The location of this apartment was absolutely amazing! Right on the lake with first class restaurants, wine bars and gelato shops surrounding. There was no need for.car as it’s tough getting in and out of the center if you do. You can walk everywhere! The apartment itself was clean, modern and light. We slept and showered well. And the terrace was a highlight for me enjoying a glass of wine and some local pizza! I highly recommend staying at Casa Riva!

Prachtig appartement op super lokatie

Het appartement ligt op de mooiste lokatie aan het Como meer. Direct uitzicht op en aan het meer. Het appartement is van alle gemakken voorzien. Het ontvangst van Giorgio was fantastisch en zeer hartelijk. Echt een aanrader! Hier komen wij zeker terug!

Beautiful Property in an "unbeatable" location

The only way to describe this property is "unbeatable." A large, comfortable property with a location that offered unmatched views of the lake. The apartment is lake-front and provides direct access to the lakefront shopping, restaurants & footpath to the ferry. This is perfect for a couple or family. Both the kitchen & bathroom were a good size. Having a full washer & dryer was fantastic. Having a full sleeper sofa & queen bed in the bedroom provides enough space for a family to enjoy and provides the best combination of function, comfort, and location along this truly spectacular section of Lake Como. to mention hosts who went above & beyond to make us comfortable form picking us up at the train, showing us how to get around and being accessible for any questions we had.
