VIP Access - always trouble
The hotel was in itself sort of OK, but you do not get the quality of room and the services that you would expect from a 5 star. As is VERY common according to my experience, there was trouble getting the promised VIP Access Gold member benefits, even though I wrote an email and asked the hotel to confirm all details: 1) Room upgrade (if available) - asked for it both in writing and on checkin. They assured room was "already upgraded" since they said the 2 night 800 EUR stay in the exclusive room was upgraded to another exclusive room with better view (second floor towards a busy street). I had to return to reception twice to get a room upgrade which I eventually did. I felt fooled. 2) The 40 EUR in food and drink credits. I wrote, I asked, then upon checkout they tried to ADD 40 EUR to the agreed and already paid room price before they deducted the 40 EUR. I had to explain that since my room service was 50 and the credit was 40 and the room was already paid, it should come to 10, not 50. They corrected it of course, still waiting to get 200 EUR they reserved back on the account. 3) Late checkout two hours was offered. No text stating "if aviailable", only that if we want it is it ok. So I wrote this before arriving at hotel and when I later called reception to let them know we would checkout 2 pm they said only "if available". All in all, I stayed at a luxury hotel and paid top money and felt like a poor cousin from the country having to beg for what I paid for.

Mycket bra beläget hotell med bra service. Tysta och bra rum där det mesta finns. Bra pris i jämförelse med andra 5* hotell.

Härlig vistelse
Hotels.com kontaktade inte hotellet angående vilket rum jag hade beställt. Hotellet drog 3300 kronor i deposition, vilket jag tycker är mycket och svårt att hålla koll på. I övrigt en härlig vistelse på ett jättebra hotell. Frukosten innehöll allt. Sängen var lagom hård för mig, men man kunde känna fjädrarna en aning. Jag tyckte ändå att den var bekväm.

Bra hotell med perfekt läge och trevlig personal.
Toppenpersonal, alla var hjälpsamma och trevliga. Det enda negativa var att de krävde en deposition vid incheckning. Frukost ingick inte, men det gör man bäst i att gå ut och äta på alla fantastiska caféer!

Bra läge och fint hotell
En fantastisk vistelse på ett fint hotell i en vacker stad. Personalen är väldigt trevliga. Man bör vara beredd på att hotellet reserverar ca 1000 sek per natt (!) på ens kort. Man får ju tillbaka det, men för oss tog det fem dagar efter hemkomst. Vi testade aldrig frukosten, eftersom vi fick veta vid ankomst att den kostade 35 euro per person. Men det finns många andra ställen runt hotellet där man kan äta frukost, tex på ett av alla de fina cafeerna som finns överallt i staden! Allt som allt dock 9 av 10 poäng till hotellet tycker vi.

The hotel generally meets the expectation from a 5-star hotel. It is worth pointing out the courtesy of the staff, the high standars of cleanliness and the very convenient location. The breakfast was satisfactory and enjoyable. The thing that needs attention for improvement is some pieces of furniture in the room such as seats that squeak when used.

Grand Vienna hotel is second to none in Vienna. I love staying at this place. Front desk staff was very courteous and pleasant at check-in. It is very important when you are traveler and do not understand the language they speak. Got a room upgrade as a VIP guest. Great experience.

When we first arrived, we were underwhelmed. There was no one to help us with our bags, and after arriving in our room, there was urine still on the toilet seat. The fire alarm also went off two nights in a row, which meant we were sitting outside in the cold, and only until right before the fire department arrived did they bring us blankets. It was utter chaos, and nobody was there to help us. The breakfast was mediocre, considering the price of €90 for two people. The hotel is in a great location, but for the price point, I recommend other five-star hotels located in the same area. Overall, considering what I paid for the hotel, I am not happy with what I received. Next time I am in Vienna, I will stay elsewhere.

Please accept my sincerely apologies regarding that there were several defects in service in various departments, we will follow up on this with the Front Office Manager immediately.I would also like to thank you for your constructive feedback and apologize that you were not able to enjoy your stay at our hotel in fact that you were interrupted by a fire alarm.The safety of our guests is one of our most important concerns and therefore we unfortunately have to observe the official regulations in such a case, even if it is a false alarm. This just was not a 5 star experience. I stayed for a week and the service - particularly room service - was abysmal. I ordered room service for dinner a total of 4 times, and twice my order was "lost" resulting in delays of several hours. If I order dinner at 18:30, I don't want to be eating at 21:30. If it happens more than once, its not an accident -- its poor management. Frankly, the staff in some places was rude, too. The man in the suit running the breakfast service was terse and I dreaded him. The evening manager of the lobby bar was similarly unpleasant. When a hotel bills itself as a 5-star, luxury hotel, you expect a luxury experience. You're likely to find better service at a highway Marriott. The spa charged €170 for a 50 minute full body massage and I found the quality was not worth the cost. The Four Seasons charges less and offers far better spa service. Who came up with these prices? Not worth it. Better to run down the street to the Hyatt if you want a decent spa experience. The rooms had in-room, self-service tablets that didn't work half the time. Very frustrating to deal with. Every time someone in my corner of the 4th floor slammed a door, my walls and bed rattled. To its credit, the building is pretty and the lobby and hallways were charming. On balance, this was not a pleasant stay. It's a pretty building with 5-star prices but 3-star service and offerings. What a disappointing holiday.

Location was great and friendly staff. The rooms and carpeting needs upgrade. Mattresses are old with hard springs and very uncomfortable to sleep. Ownership needs to spend some money to make it look like 5 star.
