Discover Lindos in an unique way, by hiking to the historical archaeological site, the Acropolis of Lindos. Hike through the old pine trees and unexpectedly green area so close to such a dry and rocky part of Rhodes, before exploring the ancient site. See it from many different angles and take the option to go inside and visit.
The hiking tour starts in the area of Vlicha, a beach located close to Lindos, on the East coast of Rhodes. Set off on the trail, and leave behind the buzz of the busy main road as you head towards the west slightly on a dirt track.
Very soon, find yourself hiking in the shade of old pine trees. The greenery here is a pleasant surprise when you think of how rocky and barren the land around Lindos is, as seen from the road. Pass the imposing limestone mountainside of Marmari and on the way, visit an impressive cave.
It is here in the area of the cave that you can see how the people of Lindos once provided for themselves agriculturally.
Discover an unusual way of visiting such an important historical archaeological site. You will never forget your first glimpse of it from on high, surrounded by the magnificent colours of the Mediterranean Sea.
The colours are even more breath-taking as you see down onto Navarone Bay, where you look in wonderment at the blues and greens of the water there.
Once in Lindos. you have time to explore the narrow lanes from up close and visit the archaeological site if you wish. On the way back, take a different route, allowing you to admire Lindos from yet another angle.
Enjoy a visit to an intriguing little church, nestled among the rocks. Here, you can admire another popular beach on the island, Vlicha, and views all along the coast towards the north of the island. You even have the opportunity to have a quick swim at the end of the tour if you have your swimming things with you!
