One of a kind log home
This beautiful home is spacious and comfortable. The host was attentive and available and the home was stocked with everything you would need to make your stay enjoyable. The location in the foothills is filled with live oak trees and wildlife which can be enjoyed from the large decking are. I brought the whole family and we all had a great time. Would definitely like to do it again.

Family gathering
We had such a great time in this log cabin. The kitchen was awesome and we did a lot of cooking! Hung out on the deck, took walks down to the pond and around, lovely and peaceful. Even had a fire in the firepit.

Awesome vacation spot
We found this house and property beautiful and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable. We were not lacking in every amenity. We did have one minor incident where my son injured his toe and needed first aid supplies, but the first aid kit was empty. It should be re-stocked. It was not a deal breaker, though. Thanks so much, we would definitely return again.

Our stay was amazing! The family enjoyed there stay! A nice fire place in the living room and big fire pit outside. All bathrooms has guest robes, which was a nice surprise! All the beds were really comfortable on top of it! I was also happy too see a well stocked Kitchen… everything we needed! I just so happy with our visit, I want to rent this home again!

Our stay in the cabin in Brown’s Valley was fantastic. It was only 10 minutes from the wedding venue, which was convenient. The cabin was beautiful, extremely roomy to accommodate a large group. Beds were extremely comfortable. Appliances were great for us to use. I loved the area. It was quiet; we saw a large group of wild Turkey hens. I would definitely recommend the cabin to others. The price was right for such a wonderful place to stay. We wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Mary.

Wedding weekend get away
We enjoyed our stay! It had 6 guests and the hime has 3 bedrooms and a loft, with 2 full bathrooms. Fully stocked with towels and dishes. The host was very nice and had great communication throughout. Would def stay again!

Perfect for our family get together
This was a great property! We stay at a lot of rentals and this one had a huge amount of space for everyone to spread out when they wanted to. The most comfortable beds and linens I have ever slept on! Tons of dishes and for being a bit in the country the cable and wifi were great.

Evans Girls Trip 2023
This was our annual girls trip. All family. Three generations. We had a blast! This home was very welcoming and reminded me and my three sisters of the home and area we grew up in. There was plenty of room for all of us. Plenty of beds. Everyone was very comfortable. We loved the kitchen. We like to cook when we are together, not go out, so all the appliances and dishes were very much appreciated. The outside porch and all the seating was fantastic. The weather was perfect while we there. We did tie dye, rock painting, and had a birthday party for the little ones since we were all together. Definitely would stay here again.

Graduation Celebration
We had 6 adults staying in this spacious log cabin. The property is truly unique, well-stocked and extremely comfortable. A beautiful get-away. We had a wonderful time celebrating a college graduation. Couldn't have asked for more. The owner was very responsive and reasonable.

10 of us (9 adults/1 child) stayed at this property. It is spacious! The wrap-around porch is a special treat. The kitchen area is open to the dining as well as living area. The property is well-supplied with kitchen items and BR/BA linens. The 3rd floor has new carpet. The house has beds for everyone. LOVE the loft area. The coffee/tea service supplied is a pleasant plus.

Nice log cabin, but owner misrepresented the property
Nice log cabin that was very well stocked with pots and pans, towels, games etc. However, owner informed me in October 2022 that VRBO listing stating 3 bed, 2 bath was incorrect as she had since added a 4th bedroom & 3rd bathroom. I thanked her for the update and told her we were excited about our stay in December and the extra room & bathroom would be needed. However, the day of our arrival the owner sent me a message stating that she had people working on the flooring downstairs but they should be gone before our check-in time of 3:00 PM. We arrived at 4:30 PM and they were still working on the flooring. The workers stayed until 5:45 PM, hammering and banging away. We were unable to access the downstairs level that was supposed to have the 4th bedroom and 3rd bathroom all night, but the owner promised she would return at 9:00 AM the next morning to unlock it for us. She did return the next morning to unlock the downstairs but when we went down there it was a COMPLETELY UNFINISHED level. There was no heat or air, walls were missing and NO BATHROOM. There was only a sofa, a lamp and twin bed but with the unfinished room, missing walls, no heat or bathroom, the entire bottom level was unusable. Very disappointed that the owner misrepresented the accomodations to me in October. If they had reached out prior to our arrival in December and honestly told us that the bottom level was never completed, we still would have kept our reservation but could have planned better arrangements for sleeping and sharing 2 bathrooms. There was a big rain storm with 50 mph winds on the last day of our stay. There were trees downed, roads were flooded and the owner was very kind to offer us the cabin for another day free of charge to wait out the storm. However, we had already cleared out. Overall the cabin was nice, the surrounding grounds are peaceful and secluded and the owner has thoughtfully stocked the cabin with lots of essentials.

In July 2022, we had completed a beautiful suite with a 3rd bath in the bottom floor of the house and many guests enjoyed this space. The first week of November while I was out of the country, there was a catastrophic septic failure due to objects flushed into the system. Fortunately no one was renting the house when the flooding started in the new suite on the ground floor. Everything we built had to be removed and sanitized, then rebuilt. The completion of the rebuild was supposed to be completed by the middle of December. The construction company kept promising that it would be finished, but did not show up for several days. They sent in a crew that week, but was only able to finish most of the floors. Had I known that this would have not been completed I would have cancelled the reservation. The upper floors of the house sleep up to 10 people and I showed them the bedding and the space was 3200 square feet without the first floor area. Tried to make the best of the situation for the family, which I thought they appreciated, but I guess it wasn’t enough. Offered a free night so they wouldn’t have to drive in a storm but they declined.

Things were quite dusty and cobwebby but otherwise we appreciated the spacious yet cozy cabin. It was perfect for our group of 9, and felt like we still had room to spare. Had lots of extra amenities available for use too so we were able to cook during our trip and had everything we needed. Thank you!

Sorry about the dust and cobwebs! We actually dusted that day and cleaned cobwebs, but they often hide in the very high ceilings. I guess it’s just part of having a country house on 6 acres!

The house does not have cats and does NOT smell like cat pee. I really can’t explain why this guest would leave this kind of review when they left a great comments in our guest book in the house saying that they had a great stay and that everything was “perfect”. We clean everything in the house each time we turn over the house and my housekeeper is amazing! The guests didn’t say anything to us when they were at the house about any smells even though I told them if they had any issues to just call me as I live nearby. This was a total surprise and makes me wonder if they are thinking about a different rental??

Constant urine odor. Maybe the bats living in the roof voids? No sharp knifes. Almost feel at times while showering in master shower. The size and location of the home was great for us. Hope they plan to do some more interior finish work. We do not enjoy writing this review.

It is true that there was a bat intrusion under the eves and there might have been some odor in the pantry in the laundry room. No other guests before or after these guests have mentioned any odor. We did take care of the situation recently and there are no odors in the house. Bats are a normal occurrence in the foothills and they like taking shelter this time of year under the eves. The guests could have called us and we would have gone to the house and corrected any issues, but they didn’t. I just purchased new knives just six weeks ago and there are 3 knife sharpeners in the very well stocked kitchen. The house water comes from a 700 foot well and is naturally soft, which can be slippery in the shower, but we provide rubber non slip bath mats for the shower. This review is not a fair review of the property. Every week I work on providing the best experience possible for my guests. Please read the hundreds of reviews that I receive on this house and our hosting.
