Dolomiti Ski Vacation
We had a great stay. Perfect for a large family - everyone had a bedroom and bathroom and the common spaces were great. We made some wonderful meals in the well equipped kitchen, Paola (and family) were quick to respond and help with any questions. Would definitely stay there again.

Absolutely Amazing Experience
We arrived without difficulty and parking was provided. We spent three nights in this absolutely beautiful villa. We used Chef Antone from The Italian Elixir for a private meal prepared in the villa one night. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

A trip with our besties
Beautiful 600 year old restored villa approximately 35 minutes south of Cortina. We hired a chef that made the week stay so wonderful. Highly recommend Chef Anthony / The Italian Elixir. He commuted 90 minutes to serve us. The villa had some appliance issues and need to be updated . Coffee maker did not work for one.Beds very hard! Quaint town ! A little farther from hiking areas then we would have liked. Overall good stay!

I'm very attentive to details but I can't know if something isn't working well but I immediately sent a technician and the coffee pod machine has already been replaced, however you could also make coffee with the moka. the mattresses are all orthopedic and new and there are excursions and cycle paths starting from the house... to be precise, Cortina is only 20 km away

Need for Better Property Management and Maintenance of this Historic Home
This is a lovely, large, comfortable historic home. However, we were disappointed with some aspects of the management of this luxury property. From the time we settled in for a week's stay with 11 family members, the dishwasher did not work. We communicated this to the owner, along with photos. She sent a neighbor to look at it, as the owner was in another part of the country but nothing was done. Consequently we went all week without a functioning dishwasher. This was a serious inconvenience and difficult to keep our large family fed and keep the kitchen orderly. In addition, when we first arrived we discovered that there were only 8 pool towels, when the host was aware that there were 11 guests (we were charged for that number of guests). One of the bathrooms had no toilet paper, there was no dishwashing powder, laundry detergent nor hand soap in several sinks. One of the shower drains was clogged and required guests in that bedroom to shower elsewhere. The owner was informed, but did not act to repair or offer to adjust in any way. I would also suggest that the house contain a file/notebook with appliance instructions, pool information, a listing of restaurants (of which there were several excellent ones) and how to handle emergencies and needed repairs. We made the best of the situation, did enjoy the pool and the comfort of the house, but it marred our vacation pleasure and I was disappointed with the lack of concern from the owner.

I am really disappointed by what you write because the lady who takes care of the guests in my absence lives next door is reliable and always available in fact she immediately came to you to show you how the dishwasher works which has no problem and works very well also used by guests who have arrived after you ( read the reviews on Airbnb with arrival date on the day of your checkout ) - towels: each guest has a towel at the pool and 3 in the private bathroom which is in each bedroom then there is a washing machine and dryer as there is no cleaning and / or linen change service but you can request - detergents and soaps etc. there is everything you need for the first few days then the guest must buy according to his needs and use liar also with regard to the drain of the shower: immediately intervened and put a product to loosen the wind entangled hair in fact even the shower had no problems perhaps you had the discomfort one day and in any case there are 6 showers in the villa. I am very sad about this review and I hope to never have guests like you again who do not know how to appreciate the historical and artistic value of the effort of the restoration of a 1400s residence (also told in the book I wrote that the house is located) with all the modern comforts the beauty of the frescoes the furnishings and all the details from the large halls to the swimming pool with a view of the mountains but above all the uniqueness of the villa which is a historical heritage bound by the Italian fine arts as a museum

Wow! What a place!
A beautiful villa in Valle di Cadore! Plenty of room for the eight of us. About 30 minutes from Cortina d’Ampezzo. Valle di Cadore has a large market and we were able to get everything we needed to cook our meals in a well-equipped kitchen. The pool is fantastic, the views incredible!

Beautiful house and town
The house is a piece of history and art! Plenty of room for the 8 of us. We felt like royalty. The town is small and peaceful. It took us a few days to realize how much the town had to offer. Hikes right out of downtown, bike rentals close by, and good restaurants and grocery stores. Cortina is close by if you want more of a tourist feel. Driving to hikes outside of the town was an adventure in itself! Beautiful area!

A perfect place for all the family
We all loved it here! A perfect place to celebrate a big birthday with small grandchild, adult children and visiting friends. Highlights were Belluno, Passo Giau in the snow (building igloo!), Cibiana and Monte Rite, walk up to chapel of San Dionisio, and of course the lovely pool! Beatrice and Massimiliano of Il Capriolo gave us a really memorable meal at the house - highly recommended.

Magical
What a magical home nestled in the mountains of the Dolomites. We traveled with 4 adults and 5 children (ages 5-11) everyone had their own beds and was very comfortable. The home is magical and does not disappoint, very well decorated with the feeling of comfort all around. Every window from the back has a spectacular view of the snowy mountains (we traveled mid-april). The adults loved sitting on the balconies in the morning with our espressos and in the evening Prosecco and wine catching up. Nights filled with laughs and watching our kids play. Our kids loved the indoor pool and sweet swing set outside and enough room to play tag and get in a little American football. While the adults could watch and relax on the balconies since it’s enclosed (perfect for every parent). The parking garage was perfect since we had rented a large van to fit us all. A short walk out to the left of the home down a little path will bring you to a main road with pizza, gelato, wine shop and others. On your walk you’ll hear the bells from the chapel across the way take tons of pictures. When I say this place is magical it’s an understatement. Paola was an amazing host! Sweet, attentive and knowledgeable. We got the impression that she genuinely wanted our stay to be perfect. She had our rooms ready the way we requested the set-up for the children, recommend great restaurants, a fantastic Prosecco tour and so kind upon our late arrival. There is also a beautifully done book on the home that you can purchase which I of course did and my kids keep asking when we can go back. As they flip a page a new memory comes out. Just perfect. A much needed vacation and an adventure with a ton of memories our families will always remember!

Stunning home!
This home is absolutely stunning! The pictures don't do the house justice....it is even more beautiful in person! We had a very long flight delay and the owner's son stays next-door, so he was able to meet, let us in and show us around the house. We almost didn't want to leave the house to sightsee around the towns because the home is so welcoming. The beds are very comfortable, plenty of towels are provided, we felt very at home. I had bought the home's book on Amazon earlier this year and asked Paola to sign one for us. She had one signed & ready for us in the house. We look forward to returning someday to this home and in the meantime cherish all our memories made.

Simply Amazing
Wonderful house in the heart of the Dolomites. Could not have asked for a better base for cycling adventures. The house is ancient and beautifully restored, with all amenities and comfortable places to relax including the amazing pool and relax room downstairs. Bedrooms were comfortable, quiet and well equipped as was the kitchen and wonderful dining area that encourages lots of communal time together. Owner is fantastic to deal with, very friendly and helpful and there is also onsite parking which is hugely helpful given the tight, old streets in the area. Would absolutely recommend and would definitely come back again. Thank you!

Living within Italian History
We had a fantastic adventure at this historic Italian home. I am thankful that Paola and her family are willing to welcome and trust guests into this unique home. We loved the "fun" stuff in the lower level such as swimming pool and fooz ball table. We enjoyed reading the wonderful book Paola wrote about the restoration of the property, strongly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy the pre and post photos. We purchased our own copy of the book to take home in a book store about 2 blocks away. This home is historic, but yet updated for today's travelers needs. Example: Dishwasher, large refrigerator, lots of hot water, updated technology and wifi. Would highly recommend this property!

Unique experience
Staying in a house from 1442 was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, especially with the updated facilities. There were six of us, including 8- and 10-year-old grandsons, and we had plenty of room to spread out. The boys, in particular, enjoyed having the pool after long, active days. We enjoyed the book by the owner on the restoration of the property. Our only problem was that it was further from Cortina than we had expected. One grandson had to be in Cortina for soccer camp every day. But we worked it out and would still rent this place, knowing now how special it is.

Luxurious, well-appointed, and lovingly restored
The Casa Galeazzi del Carmine in Valle Di Cadore was a fantastic find. It is close to Cortina d'Ampezzo (but not too close to feel faux authentic). It has a wonderful library, fine kitchen, and indoor pool. There are ample rooms to read and relax - (including two living rooms and a huge formal dining room) as well as a small restored stone-arched alcove chamber that feels absolutely timeless. There is private garage parking for two cars as well as a little bike shop and market within easy walking distance. The vistas of the Dolemites from the balcony are stellar, and the WiFi systems are very fast (e.g., you can stream NetFlix with no issues). Finally, the owner Paola was a gem (and a wealth of information). She has written a lovely coffee-table style book on the restoration of the villa that is available on Amazon that has a wealth of information on the Villa. We were there in mid September, and the temperatures were excellent, and most of the lifts were open (e.g., 5 torri, Misurina, etc.). If you are inclined to biking, the path # 9 going to Prato Piazza from Cortina was great (rent a regular or e-bike from the "Snow Service 1" sports shop across from the market in Cortina). The Villa (Casa Galeazzi del Carmine) is a classic house!

Unique historic home
My multi-generation family enjoyed a week in Paola's Valle di Cadore home in the beautiful mountains of northern Italy. The unique, historic home exceeded all of our expectations and was itself one of the highlights of our trip. Paola was an outstanding host and Maria answered many questions about where to find the best food in the area! We would recommend this listing highly. We rented bicycles for the week and especially loved the bicycle trail right near the house, traveling one direction to Cortina and the other to Calazazo. The cycling in this area is among the best anywhere! We loved our visit and plan to return. Miller Rogers Family

Excellent stay, lovely and spacious old house beautifully renovated with awesome pool and play room
We rented this property over X-mas with two families for a total of 10 adults+ 2 kids (ideal for 8 adults + 2/4 kids as one of the 5 bedroom is rather small). Everything was perfect and very functional. The house is renovated with a lot of effort in the details to keep its original appearance inside and outside. The description of this property and photos on the website faithfully reflect reality. The pool area is a big plus for young and adults. It was perfect to ski in the morning hours in Cortina or San Vito (20-30 min by car) and relax in the afternoon in the pool with jacuzzi bath. Grocery shopping close by and can be reached by foot in 5 min. walking distance. If wanted, an excellent dinner can be prepared and served by a local chef recommended by Paola. Paola is very nice, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, we will for sure come back.

unforgettable days in a kind of time travel to another historical epoch
Actually, we never give ratings, but the stay in the villa in "Valle di Cadore" has far exceeded our expectations. It is in a beautiful landscape embedded historical splendor. Walking through the imaginative rooms makes you feel like you are in a time travel full of memories some centuries back. The atmosphere is much more beautiful in reality than on the photos. The villa has been historically perfectly restored by Paola. The interior is classic, high quality, very inviting and cozy. The great kitchen, furnishing, paintings and decoration also in the bathrooms precisely matched. It feels like you are part of the family. The modern elements, such as indoor pool and a mini gym with party area is nicely integrated in the basement. Even when swimming, you have a great view of the Alps panorama. The landlady Paola was very friendly and with questions or local recommendations she was always available. Next to the villa is a small supermarket, pharmacy, wine shop, gelateria, restaurant, etc. can be found We will definitely come back.

I don’t understand why the heating isn’t optimal: it’s possible to adjust the temperature by using the room thermostat, there is one in every room including the bathrooms
