I am a former owner @ the Alii, I knew what to expect even if Hyatt is associated with the property. However, the State of Hawaii with their rescue of Lahaina failed miserably. We never were in danger, Alii staff and folks staying there all looked out for each other. Would I come back again? ABSOLUTELY, if I had anything negative it would be the kitchen utensils, pots & pans. One should expect complete sets than what we had. If you want more detailed information please reach out to me.

Great condo and location
This condo was perfect for our family of 4. Right on the beach, on the same strip as the Westin, Hyatt, and Sheraton. Very nice pool with towel service, covered beach chairs, hot tub, and drink station, with direct access from the pool to the beach. Great health club. Free, ample parking. Had all the advantages of the big resorts, but you get a much larger room (2 BR, 2 bath, full kitchen, large, modern washer-dryer, beach toys, cooler) for less money. Highly recommended for families.

Overall we had a good time. The condo is very nice. The view is stunning, while only a partial ocean view. All of the necessary amenities were supplied. The location is probably the best feature. Bars, restaurants, shopping, all walking distance. The hall bathroom shower drains slowly. The secondary bedroom mattress needs to be replaced. Its flat and feels cheap, not consistent with the experience. The pool area is great. They ask to wear a pool armband and bring a towel card, but no one asked or challenged us when we forgot. Never had a problem with parking. The bellhop was on the spot, helping with luggage and groceries. The gym is very nice, complete, clean, well equipped, better than most hotel gyms. The checkout requests were simple, just empty the trash and put dishes in dish washer. Overall we'd definitely return.

Amazing Stay
Our room and property were amazing - We took my daughter and a few of her friends for a week the communication from and with the property manager and the onsite staff was impeccable. We will be back and be working with Vacation-Maui in the future!

Perfect Birthday Celebration
Everything was wonderful! Great service, clean, well appointed condo! The pool area was fantastic and we could bring our own drinks. We reserved an umbrella with chairs for one of the days and that was fantastic! We’d definitely stay there again.

We had a very enjoyable stay. Unfortunately, when we went to do our first load of laundry the dryer was broken even though it was very new. Could be quite some time for it to be fixed as appliance store/warranty has to get involved.

Easy check in. Location is perfect, especially if you don't want to drive anywhere (easy walking to multiple restaurants, shops and beach access. Condo was a little dated, beds were older and carpet for 1 year old crawling around was not as clean as I would like it to be, but we had a great time and would stay again!

Great customer service and prompt response to maintenance question. Clean, attention to details like beach towels, beach toys, texts every day checking in to see if we needed anything, etc. Only con was the washing machine was broken but maintenance came promptly although it wasn't fixable. Wish the property had a bar and snack shop at the pool, but not a big deal since the condos have a full kitchen. Also bummer that the beach walk and a lot of the beach was washed away the month before, but that's not the resort's fault. They were very helpful trying to make the most of the situation, offering beach chairs to check out, etc.

The kitchen smelled of fish and one of the bathrooms smelled of sewage. We tried to communicate. Plumber couldn’t come until after we checked out. Not fun with the smells. We stayed out a lot. The drawer in kitchen needs to be replaced for silverware.

Great unit in our favorite Kaanapali community
Our family of 5 had a great time staying at this well-appointed condo. Although technically a 1-bedroom, there's a den setup as a 2nd bedroom that worked great, plus our son got the pull out sofa all to himself. Wonderful blend of mountain and ocean views from the 10th story balcony. Included all basic amenities including a few bonuses like a couple boogie boards. We bought a beach umbrella to use while we were there, and left it with the unit as a thank you.

Right in the middle of Kaanapali beach. This resort is a little more low key than the others and it’s a short walk to pretty much everything in the area. The room needed some minor things fixed and the front desk didnt have our reservation. I’m guessing whalers investment didn’t let them know about my booking because another family I travelled with booked through Vrbo and a different owner and the front desk had theirs. Fortunately the front desk only needed to see my reservation email. All in all it was a good trip and the room was clean. The owner could communicate a little better

All About Location!
This property is located in the Kaanapali Alii Resort on Kaanapali Beach, just a 5-minute walk to Whaler’s Village where many shops and restaurants can be found. This is certainly a plus! The property itself is very nice, but could use a nicer, larger pool. It was quite crowded. The “new remodel” title of the condo we rented is misleading, as this condo is in need of a larger “uplift.” The kitchen has been updated nicely with new appliances and granite countertops. The bathrooms are nicely done with newer showers/tubs. The stackable washer and dryer look new as well, but the floors need work, as do a few of the drawers in the bathrooms that tend to “fall” when pulled open. The furniture is dated, although a few of the chairs in the living room are comfortable. The beds are ok, but could be much more comfortable. The main complaint is about cleanliness. While the condo seemed clean when we arrived, we soon noticed pungent odors coming from inside the dishwasher, the washer, and the bathrooms. The dishwasher and washer are probably a result of mold or mildew and need a very good cleaning. The bathrooms seem to emit a light “sewer” smell. Perhaps, coming up through the property’s sewer system? … especially the master bathroom. Overall, this is a nice property with a partial ocean view, as well as mountain views, that could be at least 4 stars! It is our opinion that 6 people are too many for this condo, as the 2nd bedroom is small and is configured more as a den … right off the living room. We had to put the 10 yo and 12 yo on a blow up mattress (which is provided) on the living room floor … which had to be moved out of the way every day. The condo is fairly small, also another reason for taking only 4 people. We, of course, enjoyed ourselves in Maui, Hawaii! However, more attention needs to be paid to cleanliness, especially with the large cleaning fee!

Needs better upkeep.
To start with, we love this resort and the location. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. This year we decided to purchase through VRBO and we got a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit that had a peekaboo view of the ocean and full on view of the golf course and tennis courts. Upon entering our room the first thing we see is sunglasses on the entry table that were left by the cleaner from the previous guests and Corona bottle caps under the couch. Garbage disposal didn’t work, my husband fixed it. Dryer did not work, my husband fixed it. Master bedroom screen door off the track and bent so bad that there was no fixing it. Master bathroom drawer broken. Second bedroom sliders were off the track, my husband fixed it. The electrical panel is covered by a cabinet face and falls off all the time and hit me once, this would be awful for a child to have it fall on them. The internet was not working which was super important so we called the management company. The first person we talked to said that she would try to get someone over there that day but had not idea of what time, she said something like “when he wakes up”. We hung up and called back later to speak with someone else. This person seemed to be very knowledgeable. I explained to her all of the problems with the room, what we had already fixed and what still needed to be fixed. We left for the day and came back and our internet was working, but the employee left wires pulled out of the wall, drywall, the panel and tools were left out on the floor. I have never written a bad review but this literally got my blood boiling. They didn’t offer us anything for the items that my husband fixed. Between the garbage disposal and dryer he spent around 4 hours. The way the employee left the room after servicing our internet router. When you spend this amount of money and do not get what you expect and actually WAY below standards you have to question is it the management company of the owners? We are all positive people so we did not focus on this during our trip as we had an amazing time and spent most of our time outside. I would spend more money next time and stay in one of the condos that the actual resort manages as our friends room was amazing and the Kaanapali Alii staff were amazing.

This condo worked great for our family of 5 plus one extra. Kaanapali Beach is a great place to stay in Maui. The beach is wonderful there and close to restaurants and shopping.. The Kaanapali Alii was beautiful. Wish they had a bar at the pool. (don't know if that was a change due to COVID). Had great customer service from Stacy at rental company. Had a few questions and needed a late departure and she was able to get everything figured out in a timely manner. Would definitely stay there again!

Awesome location. Wonderful staff. Fun, fun, fun!
The Alii has excellent amenities for families and it centrally located to all of the activities you might expect to find on Maui - not to mention the onsite fitness center, grilling pavilion and tennis courts. For me, got to jump from Black Rock at least once a day and runs on the boardwalk. The unit is well furnished and easily fits my family of 4 with room to spare. It has a partial ocean view but it has a full mountain view which spawned rainbows every day we were there - a wonderful show.

Best place I have stayed in Maui!!!
I'm always a little weary of what you may get with any online deal but especially homes and condos. Typically they show the best angles and views that you don't even see. Not in this case. This property is everything as advertised and MORE. Walking in, everyone was very impressed and it just got better from there. All amenities as described but a true since of being away at home. I could write a book about how much I loved this property but I won't and leave you with this. RENT THIS PROPERTY!!!!
