Blood stains in some places, windows didnt lock, police showed up 10 min after check in guns drawn and ready to break down a door. Many homeless in area. Not ideal for anyone with children.

Showed up and they couldn’t find the reservation and then went to our room and it was gross. Smelled of cigarettes and musty. Very old beds and not clean.

This place was great value. It was clean and the staff was nice. The downside is its a very old motel that os falling aprt. There was water damage on the walls and roof with what looked to be mold.

Dear ShawnGreeting from 5000 Motel.these buildings were built 60 years ago, it is motel since 1975, a lot of the falicites are out-dated, innovaiton has been doing since last year, all the facilites in the rooms will be replaced and will be done by next spring.Anyway, thanks for you attention and we will improve.Vicky JING

Dirty. Like, really dirty.
July 2023. This place is dirty. Dirty to the point where I almost slept in my car in the parking lot instead. The Owners were really really nice people. If I could have checked out and stayed somewhere else, I would have. Everything was booked. This is more like 5 Motel, not 5000.

This motel needs to be delisted immediately
We did not stay here after we saw the advertised heated pool was in fact not filled with water and after reading other reviews we realized it had not been filled for several years. False advertising at its worst. The grounds were messy, the entrance had a locked gate with barbed wire at the bottom, and while we were in front of our unit deciding whether to stay there or not, we heard and saw a group of homeless people just outside the broken fence next to our unit arguing and throwing food around. I was under the impression that we would have to pay even if we cancelled our reservation and so after a first quick look at the unit we said we would be back later with our other family members. When we came back a couple of hours later we realized we had forgotten to check the pool. The non-pool was the last straw. No water in an empty pool with a rickety broken fence around it on a 35C degree day next to another broken fence with homeless people living next door arguing and the unkempt look to all the grounds did it for us. At a cost of over $300 a day and a $100 damage deposit besides! We were extremely shocked that such a place was allowed by the city of Penticton to operate, or to be advertised by Hotels.com. We have been charged for that one-day non-stay for a place where we would never stay. The manager said he couldn't cancel our reservation, only Expedia? could do that. Hotels.com told us they couldn't cancel it, only the owner could. Honest business practice?

The staff were pleasant enough, but please be aware, this is a one star motel, with broken furniture, lamps, bathroom fixtures, windows, etc. Extremely basic.

Unit was clean and quiet. Property well secured. Fan was in bedroom to supplement the wall mounted A/C. Free WiFI was a plus. 40 minute brisk walk north to Westminster Ave. Plenty of shopping and dining close by. Did the job for an overnight stay while in town for Okanagan Trestles Tour.

A great, central location to lay your head
This is not a 5* hotel. This is our second time staying here, and the owner is friendly and helpful. There is a new security gate protecting the parking lot and rooms from unauthorized people entering the premises. The location is great and central. There's a McDonalds right next door, and lots of restaurants within a quick walk. The suites have a little kitchen with stove, oven, fridge, microwave, coffee, etc. It's great for cooking breakfast. Outside are seats so that you can sit and visit outside the room. Bring indoor shoes. While the bed, bathroom and kitchen were clean, there's a labour shortage in the Okanagan (and elsewhere in Canada) so it wasn't immaculately clean. We would stay here again.

This property is in need of a major facelift. The walls were full of scratches, cracks, and patches. The paint was chipped and peeling. There were exposed screws on the front of the bathroom sink cabinet. The mirror was cracked and marked. The bedspread was paper-thin and disintegrating. The shower had long hair that wasn't mine. There were some noisy tenents that seemed sketchy. The place had the feeling of a flophouse. The kitchen was functional. The internet was good.

The motel 5000 is what you pay for. It’s older, in desperate need of renovations and more than 2 forks in the kitchen, but the staff was helpful and we didn’t mind the locking gate. It was a bit rough around the edges but we had no issues and left in one piece. Would we stay again? Likely not. But it was an experience!

We had a hose on the toilet split and leak water. When the maintenance man fixed it he didn’t tell us so we spent most of the day with no bathroom. I caught the cleaning lady having sex with a guest when I went looking for answers about the toilet. Our suite was very dirty, I wiped the water off the floors and the white towel turned brown. Extremely dissatisfied with the accommodations!

The photos of the nice pool are misleading. My buddies and I were out for a 6 hour motorbike ride in 40 degree heat. Along the way we kept talking about how nice the pool was going to be. Upon arrival at the 5000 Motel, there was a gate that had a bit of a third world refugee camp vibe. When we saw the pool we were completely disheartened that it was empty and appears to have been out of commission for years. The room smelled like a combination of harsh cleaning agents, with a very slight note of cigarette smoke. The room was really nasty, probably the worst room I've stayed in, yet among the most expensive. I apologized to my friend for choosing such a dump. We sat outside with some beers and watched the local wildlife. The folks there were pretty friendly, but I think we may have been the only people there who weren't meth users. All in all, I feel that I was completely misled by the photographs of Motel 5000. It was an entertaining experience slumming it, but I would recommend looking elsewhere. These rooms should be no more than $50 per night, even in peak season. In retrospect, a sleeping bag and a park bench at a local beach would have been a better bet. I had more faith in Expedia to offer quality accomodations and I can say with certainty I will not be using their services again.
