Way overpriced for the conditions. This place had a non-functional shower (our neighbours also couldn't get it to work). I showered myself and my kids by filling a water bottle. Very disappointing after a long day of hiking (there's also a hole inside the shower right through the wall to the outside - I guess a vent used to be there and they never replaced it). One of the bathrooms had a toilet that didn't flush - I had to flush it with a bucket. The blinds in our room were broken - have to be turned by hand. The bed felt caved in and worn out. If it were 100EUR cheaper, I'd say fine. But at this price, it needs a major upgrade. I messaged the owner via Expedia app last night and have not heard back. A shame because our first impression was "this place is cozy". For reference, the night before, we stayed at a place almost 100EUR cheaper and had a private, fully renovated bathroom and two rooms with excellent beds and sheets. The full service hotel we stayed at in Vik was also cheaper.

The staff were extremely helpful, and although our reserved room was not available, they were gracious and accommodating. I highly recommend this property--the rooms were clean and comfortable, the service was warm and friendly.

It worked, but it cost gas and time others did not
We had to go to a different location completely to get info how to enter this guesthouse - not had to waste this time or gas for any of the many other guesthouses we have stayed in - no reason the info couldn't be emailed to us, as others have. This was the smallest of any of the rooms, also, and the most basic of all the guesthouse rooms we have stayed in. It worked for a place to sleep, and there was a kitchen available.

The accommodation is located about a 10min drive from Jökulsárlón. So it is really convenient when doing activities on the glaciers. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a kitchen if you need to make food. The nature around the accommodation is next level. With a waterfall at the back of the property.

Nice room with a deck, from which we saw the northern lights. Proximity to Jokulsarlon was the biggest factor for us to book there. Nearby guesthouse has restaurant, where we had a nice dinner. Shared bathrooms is the only drawback of this particular property

The lady that helped us at checkin was so friendly. Room was clean and comfortable and the scenery around the property was beautiful. I read a review that there was one outlet in the room and it was 6 feet up the wall, that wasn’t our experience. We had outlets right on top of the bedside table on both sides. We didn’t use the kitchen area as we got there late and left early. The only recommendation I would make would be to add black out blinds. It was light at 5am and our room was bright. Other than that everything was great! Would recommend for sure.

Very close to glaciers. Loved separate cabin. Friendly and helpful staff that was willing to wait for our late check in. Oh, and we had 2 private waterfalls coming out of the mountains behind us…how can you beat that?

Terrible experience. We were tired from driving and they made us drive 5 minutes past the guesthouse to their restaurant to get a lock code which they could have simply sent it via email to us, then drive back to the house. As I arrived the door was being held close with a chair because there wasn’t a lock, the place was very noisy, the doors were stuck and loud. One of the 2 toilets upstairs was out of order who knows for how long -I could tell because of the tape. Do not stay here unless it’s your last option.

This stay was only okay. The room was very tight for two people with luggage, there were no blackout curtains (with over 20 hours of daylight in summer), it was very difficult to find the guesthouse, and it was the nosiest stay I’ve had in Iceland. The only positive was we did a glacier hike that was connected with the hotel and it was fantastic. Overall I would not stay here again.

We booked this property last minute, after realizing a 2.5 hr drive back to Vik in the dark and snow was not a wise move after hiking the glacier! Lol Very comfortable and able to accommodate us. The Gerdi guesthouse was great for their restaurant and getting us checked in quickly. Would definitely recommend either property.

We love this location ! So close to diamond beach . This area is a must see ! Prepare to drive a bit but worth it , the house is super spacious and gorgeous

Summer house is a lovely place
Our stay at Reynivellir was very nice. The business has accommodationd at 2 locations 2km apart. By incorrect directions from the email we received we ended up at the wrong location and were given keys to a summer house, which looked like the picture in the email but wasn't what we booked. Sorting out the mixup took some time but the owners of the place let us stay at the house at no additional charge. The summer house was lovely, just under two waterfalls and very comfortable for our stay of one night.

My family of 5 enjoyed our stay here. The beds were very comfortable and 2 full baths was great. The kitchen is small, but had everything we needed to cook meals (though we had to shop in Vik on our way there). Excellent location for the ice caves. Easy checkin at the guesthouse. And fiber internet was excellent!

Great location!
Amazing location near Jokalsarlon, a minor pain to have to check in and out several minutes away and with nobody on site if issues arise. Shared kitchen and bathrooms worked smoothly.

It was a very difficult place to reach. With the blink of an eye, you can miss it which I did and drove one hour away from Hofn. When I called the hotel for help, directions and landmarks were very vague. In the bathroom, there was no place to put your shampoo. There was no bath mat and when you stepped out of the shower, you could easily slip because the shower was level with floor and the floor was all wet. It was noisy all night long because you could hear every sound when people came and went throughout the night.There was only 1 outlet in the room for light cellphone and digital camera.This was for a single person but the twin bed was much narrower than usual. The only good things about this place were cleanliness, crisp sheets and lots of places to hang things.

The room was easily large enough for 3 people. Everything was clean and the bathroom had goid water pressure in the shower. The kitchen had coffee and the equipment to make meals. All that was good. There's a bit of a weird way you have to check in, but they make it clear. The location is not great though. That's all the stuff you might eamt to know.
