The city wall of Lucca runs 4 km (2.6 miles) and provides stunning views of the mountains, hills and the city outside the walls. It is also a great way to see the sights of Lucca and orientate yourself. Plenty of accesses to the walls mean you get from place to place in the city with ease without navigating the winding streets. Cycles and four wheel pedal transport can be hired to ride the walls at very economic cost.
we had great fun cycling around the wall on a 'rickshaw', stopping for coffee on the way round. great value
