Tidigare känd som Casa Republicii, sedan Casa Poporului, men inte för folket, är det den viktigaste symbolen för den kommunistiska eran, avsedd att rymma ministerierna, kommunistpartiets kontor eller tillfälliga lägenheter för höga funktionärer. Den byggdes med början 1984 på den säkraste platsen i staden, med tanke på den höga risken för jordbävningar, har 9 våningar och 4 underjordiska nivåer.
Längs rundturen passerar du byggnadens viktigaste rum, konferenssalar, balkongen med den fantastiska utsikten över torget (tyvärr inte tillgänglig för tillfället), huvudtrappor, stora korridorer, imponerande gallerier eller senatens plenisal (endast tillgänglig på turer som går på denna sida av byggnaden på helgerna).
