I stayed at this hotel on a solo trip. After reading many reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised! The room was basic, but it had everything I needed (incl toiletries) and more was available upon request. My room also included a safe, which wasn't mentioned anywhere. They offer free wifi with decent speeds as well as a Continental breakfast buffet. The breakfast was really good in my opinion! All the staff were friendly and welcoming and you can tell they all work really hard.
Some of the things that might put other people off is that not all the rooms have "views". My room looked out over a little courtyard, but I spent hardly any time in the room apart from sleeping! It was comfortable in every sense. The shower is powerful and not as piddly as some other hotels I've stayed in.
The Gothic Quarter is a hive of activity and I found the activity to start from as early as 8am in the mornings. There was some noise from the street with deliveries being made to various businesses, but nothing that couldn't be solved by wearing ear plugs.
There were no English TV channels available, but this didn't bother me as I spent very little time in the room.
The hotel is in a pedestrian area, so only taxis can take you right up to the front door - all other methods of transport will involve walking for a few minutes.
The bathroom doors aren't super private, which may be an issue depending on travel companions. All in all, a great stay and I would happily return
