We booked this hotel mainly because of the location - which was absolutely ideal. It is right in the busiest part of Barcelona on La Rambla, so surrounded by plenty of shops, restaurants etc. It was around a couple minutes walk to the metro, buses and city hop on/ off buses. Location is great - just note that of course this means you can still hear a lot of street noise from the rooms.
The staff at the reception were always very polite, friendly and helpful. You do have to return your key to them every time you leave the hotel, and collect when you return.
The hotel decor was very dated and dark, and could do with a complete revamp, same with the tables and chairs. They provide a free 24/7 snack bar, along with hot drinks, water, cold drinks, beer and wine, which is a great addition and very handy for us when we wanted to stop at the hotel for a drink before heading back out again. The breakfast selection wasn’t anything special, very basic and majority cold foods.
The room we had was clean, and for the price we paid I can’t fault it. It also has air con and a safe, and the bathroom was spacious and quite modern. Having the balcony overlooking La Rambla was excellent, worth paying the extra for.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would happily book this place again.
