Staff who checked us in was very nice, and my son loved the old cars and Route 66 theme. Upon entering the room it looked very modern and updated, but I quickly noticed the floor was gritty with dirt. After finding a huge cricket I realized there was a large gap under the door letting dirt and bugs blow in. I removed a series of bugs and then plugged the gap with tissues. The hot and cold water were also swapped somehow, so the toilet was always hot which was weird. The beds were fresh and clean, but the mattresses were super hard. We also had two bath towels, but only one washcloth to use between us? The bathroom sink was hard to use for washing my face because the basin was only maybe 3 inches from front to back so I spilled, and since the floor was so dirty it literally made a muddy mess. It also drained extremely slowly. I should have spent a little more and stayed somewhere else, but if you aren’t too particular it might be worth it for the price.

Dit motel ziet er aan de buitenkant prima uit. De kamer was in slechte staat en de badkamer was niet schoon. Koffiefilter van de vorige bewoner zat nog in het apparaat. De stad was verschrikkelijk, vergane glorie misschien. De volgende ochtend meteen weer vertrokken.

Nice motel. Historic, the front staff was very nice. It looks outdated outisde but inside but inside its renovated with amenities such as fridge and small kitchen

It had an old Route 66 theme with beautiful old cars in front. The property is very old but clean & looks like a lot of updates have been made.

Great roadside motel, especially if you have young kids. Beds were good and I slept well. Friendly staff and it is located near the train station.

Where do I start! When I checked in I was given the key to an occupied room. Then attempting to park was terrible! Went to have dinner, came back and had to take two spaces almost sideways to park my pickup truck so I wouldn’t be sticking out. We were extremely exhausted as we had just drove in from Albuquerque, NM. The room had not been cleaned! The previous persons body wash container and soap were in the shower. Water still on the shower floor along with dirt. Water spots all over the shower door and walls. The sink faucet was filthy as well! The sink plug was pulled out, sitting on the counter, which I found out was because it was draining slow. The package soap was all wet and I’m sure there before I was. The floor was dirty with footprints in dust all over it. The bed looked thrown together. I brought my own blankets to sleep on and cover with. My own pillows as well. It is a non smoking room with cigarette burn in the blanket. There are graham crackers and other food products between the couch and wooden table(?). The remote to the tv doesn’t work correctly….. that was the smallest issue there was! The woman in the office actually asked me when I checked in and if I “just” noticed it, as if I was lying. Then she said the” cleaning person cleaned it but must have missed some spots”. I said “yes, all of it!” She told me I needed to speak to the manager in the morning. Maybe she would issue a refund. When in a 8:30 am to check out and manager not there. Don’t stay here!!

It was a cute property with a cute theme. The room was newly remodeled so it was in pretty good condition, but the bed was super hard. We expected that since you get what you pay for. What bothered us the most was how dirty the floor was. You could see that it hadn’t been swept in a while so it must also not be mopped. We didn’t feel comfortable walking around without shoes the entire time. My socks were black when I did walk around in them. Definitely could use a better cleaning job.

We initially were charmed by the Route 66 theme. We planned to take pictures in the morning to add to our collection of places we've been. It was clean, not dark, had all of the basic amenities. Nothing fancy, but a very good example of a local motel. "Next time we come here we should stay here every time," my partner said. That would have been our overriding view of the place and I had planned to write a glowing review. Unfortunately, when we checked in we asked if we could have a 12 PM check out. The woman at the desk said they could do 11:40. We joked about this and prepared to be ready to go at 11:40. But at a little after 11 a woman knocked on the door and said check out is 11. My partner was in the shower, and I was working on my computer. I explained that the woman at the desk had said we could have an 11:40 check out. The woman at the door said, no, check out 11 or pay extra. I said we were not ready to leave just then because we had been told we could check out at 11:40 and we'd planned accordingly. The woman just kept repeating that check out was 11 or we had to pay more. We quickly vacated the room and packed up in the parking lot. By then we were so stressed and annoyed that we decided against taking happy pictures of the surroundings and stay here "every time" changed to "never again." It's a shame because we had been enjoying our stay and it put a damper on the entire day.

The pictures were cute online, but from the time we got there and there was no one in the office (had to call the number and they didn’t know why no one was there) to the fact the room looked like a murder scene. The room stunk, bed comforter had cigarettes burns all over it. When the cover was pulled back the sheets had blood and urine stains on them. We were getting ready to leave the room when a cockroach came running down the wall. Needless to say we ran out the door. Very disappointed

Promotes they have HBO, but they do not. The tv would not work, turns out there were literally no batteries in the remote. But the young lady at the desk was very sweet, and knowing I’m pretty disabled right now and my mother is elderly and has a hard time getting around, she even offered to help carry our bags in and brought extra pillows. She was so nice, which makes up for a lot

Growing and will be great
This is a beautiful little motel, that looks to building itself. They room with very neat with high grade articles throughout the room. But the night we were there, we had no TV or Internet. They need to bleach their towels and get higher quality linens. Add 2 washcloths per room. Loved the staff- tried to help with the internet and TV, and had someone coming the next day.

The place is set up to be a kitchy beaten-up old Route 66 motel. It’s a (purposeful) dump and I love it! Look, if you want 4-Star, you can get that in Barstow. But why? If you’re driving the Southwest route, go for the fun. The price is right. There’s a Fosters Freeze a few blocks away plus local dining. Lovely lady running the place. The coffee maker could have been cleaner and the area isn’t pretty. But the motel is so much fun! Take photos. Gets some sleep.
