Fresh and nice
The hotel was fresh and in a good condition. Although there wasnt much to do nearby, i would probably stay there again. The breakfast was just OK.

Hotel looks and is grubby. Carpet in stairs dirty and torn in . 4 floors lift out of order ( why was not mentioned at time of booking) room carpet dirty curtains dusty . Food menu very limited . Breakfast unappetising.

Awful place.
Don’t think I’ve ever written a bad review but this is needed as the hotel has lied about how long we stayed in the room and won’t refund us at all or even offer a partial refund. The hallways and room smelt of cooking. There were dirty plates left outside rooms. The room was freezing when we arrived. The tv didn’t work properly. The beds were not comfortable. We checked out because we couldn’t as a family bear to stay a night here, so we paid to stay elsewhere. The next day we contacted Hotels.com and told them what happened and asked if we could requested a refund because we didn’t stay and ended up booking another hotel but we’re refused as the when Hotels.com contacted The Holiday Inn Express they said we stayed for 10 hours. We didn’t we stayed for 3 and for two of those were were off site looking for somewhere to eat and another place to stay. Terrible.

my room was freezing cold and nothing was done about it.Breakfast in the morning was poor baked beans finished not catered for vegan customers. all in all very disappointing indeed.

Good value for the money
The bed was not the most comfortable, Air con unit didn't appear to be working but as it was cold there was an electric heater in the room so used that. The included breakfast was very good and the staff very friendly. The room cost £64 on a Saturday night for two people including breakfast, well worth the money.

Lift not working not been told and I had to leave and stayed in car after 10 hrs drive from Scotland very dissspointed will not stay in that hotel again

Sorry the lift was out of order during your stay. We did call the lift company to come out but as it was Christmas they couldn't get anyone out. Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.

This hotel is part of a group I use on a regular basis. On arrival it was clear that the 5th floor of the hotel was being occupied entirely by refugees, asylum seekers, and homeless families as there was a constant trail of food delivery agents arriving at all times of the day and night handing over parcels of food and collecting government sponsored coupons. There were also a large amount of children in the building. We were sitting in the front lounge area and a sex worker who I later confirmed actually lives in the hotel. with her pet dog left the building for work. She was repeatedly dropped off by her pimp in a large black SUV and went up to her room, changed and went out again for another client. This went on all nigh! Whilst I don't have anything against, refugees, asylum seekers, or those using the hotel for legitimate purposes, it was very disappointing to us to find out that these groups were present. If I had known before, we would not have booked this venue to meet.

Hi, can we please double-check this review as we don't house asylum seekers and definitely don't have sex workers staying in the hotel, we are a family-orientated hotel and welcome people from all ethnic backgrounds and don't discriminate against anyone who wishes to stay at our hotel.
