We stayed at Victoria & Alfred for 5 nights and found it to be the perfect while visiting Cape Town. We booked one of the larger air conditioned rooms facing Table Mountain and the view was spectacular. Breakfast could be enjoyed outside right on the docks watching the city come to life and seals playing in the harbor basin. The breakfast buffet was excellent with everything you'd expect and more. Selection of fresh juices, yogurts, muesli, fresh fruits and berries, cheeses, jams, salmon, several kinds of bread, biscuits and cookies and what not. There was a menu selection of hot dishes as well as freshly brewed espressos and cappuccino. Complimentary oysters and champagne was served for breakfast every day. The buffet was always in perfect order. Some (not all!) of the female staff in the restaurant could cheer up a little a bit and offer friendlier service, but the male staff was excellent and so was the entire other staff we met. The cleaning personnel even offered to help carry our bags when they saw us struggling a bit. Parking was just outside in the shades, with easy access to highways going in all directions when we wanted to explore the Cape and the surrounding area. The city center is within walking distance, and the Waterfront has a lot to offer tourists, so we found it perfect for dinners and late night strolls before going to bed (granted, it is more pricey and touristy). The hotel also offered a small garden, bar and pool area a short stroll from the hotel.
