“Our host was gracious and most helpful, Anna Maria met our cab at the entrance of the complex where her apt was located. She showed us how the gate & front door locks worked, where everything was inside. Anna Maria had an informative folder with map of area showing where to find nearby restaurants, attractions, even indicated how long the walk was to each of her suggestions. “This was a reasonably priced charming 3 bedroom vintage walk up flat with fully equipped kitchen for making light food and snacks. The apartment also a washing machine but for drying clothes there is an outside clothes line--at the kitchen patio area. The apartment location is in the middle of Catania and there is an open air produce market and flea market every morning 7am to 1pm. Most everything you need is within walking distance and about 5 blocks away there is nice upscale shopping area...

“The property was very good, however I could not get the AC to work. Torrential downpours, so very humid. The ability to wash our clothes was nice but instructions for a hot shower would be nice.”

“The property is nicely renovated but we were not aware of the .5 meter wide spiral steel staircase. I have severe arthritis in my knees and ankles and this staircase kept me grounded on the ground floor. There was a discrepancy between what VRBO charged me and what the owners thought they should receive. VRBO had to work on a settlement. The experience left a bitter taste. There is one feeder street that is one way, and the property is on a one way street. Catania Public Works had access closed...

“The place has odors of mold and mildew, there was not air-condition and the fan was broken so it was unbearably hot. The neighbours were noisy and you could hear people screaming all day. The door of the fridge was problematic and you could not close it. There was not official internet with router but just a phone connected in 4G which is not WPA2 encrypted and insecure. There was not free parking in the area. The bed was tiny for 2 people and the pillows uncomfortable. ”

“Casa D’aria is a quaint and lovely place for a vacation set in an ideal location in Catania. The eclectic style of the entire building is so interesting and homey. We had excellent communication with the owners leading up to our check in. The room was massive! With the comfiest bed tucked up on a loft. We made use of the full kitchenette and our room even had a washer to do our laundry. The rooftop communal terrace was a great place to enjoy a bottle of wine and listen to the sounds of Catania....
