“This worked out great for our family. We spent most of our time in nearby Bishop’s Stortford with family. For rest, morning coffee and winding down in the evening, this place was perfect. It was clean and quiet, the mornings and evenings were cool and calm, very relaxing. The place is a bit remote, but that was easily remedied by the superior taxi service we experienced during our stay. “Overall it was a lovely place to stay for a couple of nights. The welcome gifts and essentials of bread and milk being in the property for you is just lovely. It was a little out of the village than I realised when first booked but was okay except the road noise from cars as road at front is quite busy thankfully at night much better. Only downside was the oven it really needs to be cleaned.”

“Great hospitality from the staff. Breakfast was good but a little overpriced for a basic continental spread. I would have expected the continental breakfast to be included with the room rate. Dinner in the restaurant was fabulous! I would love to dine there again. When I got my final bill for my stay (room and breakfast) I was asked if I wanted to add further gratuity to it which was a little surprising and made me feel a bit awkward. “Mycket trevlig och vänligt bemötande av alla i personalen. Mycket hög servicegrad totalt sett. Snyggt, rymligt och ljust rum, eget bad men utan effektiv ventilation - installation beställd enl ägarna. Området/staden vänder sig till turister och har en lång badstrand, men den kommer inte till sin rätt kalla dagar i maj. Mycket bra restaurang i närheten.”

“A beautifully appointed previous Bakehouse in the historic village of Coggeshall in Essex. Very convenient in every way.”

“Lovely old cottage, furnished well with a nice kitchen having everything you need for eating in (except for a sieve or collander). Clay tiles on ground floor make the floor cold so bring slippers in low season. Some very low beams so tall people beware. Couldn't light the gas fire though. Surprised to find slow-moving bees on window sills or on floor each day when returning from day out.”

“Es war dieses Mal unser fünfter Aufenthalt in Cholchester, sodass wir die Gegend bereits sehr gut kannten. Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig und idyllisch an direkter Wassefront. Cholchester ist mit dem Auto in ca. 10 Minuten zu erreichen. Oberflächlich ist das Haus sauber, nur beim genaueren Hinsehen und Nutzen der Küche waren zum Beispiel deutliche Fettanhaftungen an der Dunstabzugshaube und nicht gut gereinigtes Besteck festzustellen.
