Great: The hotel was brand new and very clean and comfortable. Spacious rooms with coffee/tea facilities, we were upgraded to a junior suite. We stayed on the 4th floor which was high enough not to be disturbed by traffic or outside noise. Cleaning staff very good, flexible and friendly. The pool was not very large nor deep but but good for kids to play and not too busy. Breakfast was fine, nice fruits, not so nice breads and pastrys. To be improved: Service unreliable. Sometimes fast and efficient, sometimes completely lacking. For example, we had to ask five times over two days in order to get a baby cot in our room, despite having requested it in the booking and had it confirmed over phone before arrival. No excuse or compensation either for having to share beds the first night. Breakfast and pool staff were friendly and helpful but in need of training. For example how to ask if somebody is finished with their plats rather than just randomly start grabbing half-eaten plates off the table, or not to dunk a bucket of chemicals in the pool where kids are playing with no warning. It's also disgusting to allow smoking around the pool, especially as there is a bar area nearby which would seem much more suitable. Be aware that the distance to Marina Mall and Dubai Marina is much longer than it looks on the map, as you first have to walk along the motorway for a while before being able to cross the road at the Metro station. Front staff very helpful in getting taxis though.
