Nice & competitively priced countryside hotel
Nice little hotel/pub with good rooms, nice breakfast and good pub food. Close to Stansted Apt. Competitively priced.

Nice and tidy countryside hotel & pub
Nice hotel & pub in the countryside. Clean and tidy with a friendly, but a bit inexperienced staff. Very nice breakfast.

Fantastiskt läge mitt i en jätteidylisk liten by.
Standarden är godkänd men ingenting mer, litet rum men bekväm säng. Det som gör hotellet är fantastisk personal, idylliskt läge och gemytlig pub i botten. Jag rekommenderar det högt till den som inte har alltför stränga krav på rummets standard.

Great pub/hotel, stayed here several times over the last 10 years and each time it’s being terrific. Rooms have been up dated and the service and food are exceptional.

The hotel staff were efficient and friendly. The meals that we had at the hotel were enjoyable, and provided good value for money. A very pleasant place to stay for a week-end.

flight path so very noisy but otherwise nice
What was nice was the location to the town and local attractions. However it is on the flight path so noisy. Our room ( 17) was nice and comfortable but the bed was hard as were the pillows so do take your own if you have a particular type you like. The bath was nice and the staff were friendly as was check in. Parking was terrible as it is the pub car park people were blocking others in and this is quite a locals bar so I think they seemed to all know the system. Sad as there is on road parking so why they don't use this surprises me and keep the car park for hotel guests only. I would stay again as it is the only one really in the town. The local Airb is terrible so avoid that! Overall 4/5 I think. I would stay again.

Three nights here and I honestly which it was longer Great public house with amazing comfy rooms with lovely bed constant fan for great sleep! Breakfast and dinner were always excellent combination of friendly staff and locals guarantee I will be back

Comfortable stopover
The Swan Hotel was a good stopover between a concert at Saffron Walden and a flight the next morning from Stansted. Our room was well-equipped, comfortable and quiet. We were out too early to try the breakfast so being able to select a room-only option was helpful. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Not the best
No options of an early check out as we had to leave early. Tried phoning the out of hours phone with no answer. Paid for a breakfast which we was unable to have as we had to leave. No options of an early breakfast - even just cereals. Poor service and not very accommodating or welcoming.
