Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know of your experience. Our traditional labor force was not able to come this year and we have been training new people since June. While our historic schoolhouse lobby does not have a public restroom, our poolhouse does have a restroom for all of our guests. We are glad you enjoyed staying in historic Edgartown! Hello Richard, It is very unfortunate that, that was your experience. We are a very small condominium hotel with individually owned units that offer their own unique charm. The particular unit you stayed is the most requested unit and is usually fully booked before the season even begins with our returning guests. The pool was closed for a day in order to ensure our guests (your) safety and we sincerely apologize for this inconvenience however safety is our top priority.

Dear Jessie, Edgartown Commons is a condominium hotel. We are geared towards long-term stays, as we feature apartments and cottages with kitchens. We regret that your one-night visit did not live up to your expectations. Respectfully, we are one of the best values in Edgartown, enjoyed by many repeat customers every summer, and our staff strives to make to make every guest feel at home. When you alerted us to your TV troubles, we rushed over to your unit to fix the TV and while checking the connections and remote, your husband asked if he could help. The suggestion was made to dial the number of the cable company while we worked on the TV. Unfortunately, this was perceived as inappropriate by you and your husband. While we understand that, you raised your voice inappropriately to the night staff, and it was deemed necessary to work on the issue with Comcast in our office. In the end, the cable box was faulty, and we replaced it and we reprogrammed the remote. We knew you felt let down by our services, and for that we apologize. However, a one-night stay in our condo-hotel community doesn't afford us the time or opportunity to make up for an inconvenience like the TV cable needing repair. Edgartown Commons is one of the small, affordable, and charming hotels left in this area. There is not one staff person here who would not do everything in their power to help correct a wrong. Thank you for your input Julie. It just so happens that the unit you were in is going to be completely remodeled this winter and there will be new flooring. So any issues like this will be addressed in time for our guests in 2022

Thanks so much for your kind words. Yes, these are all individually owned and reflect the owner's tastes. The good news is that the majority of rooms have been updated or will be soon, so there have been a lot of improvements made with more to come.
