We have a UV system and soft water in place for our well water - but that should not introduce an odor.We do not have a kitchen or cleaning facilities to provide food - but every unit is fully equipped as a condo with a full kitchen including dishes, cooking utensils, pots/pans, etc., and all appliances. We would have absolutely responded to any requests for resupplying paper goods in your room had we received one.
