Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, which is honestly the view of the large majority of our guests that we do offer a quality stay in a heritage building designed to be a country house. We do believe guests enjoy a restful sleep whilst staying owing to the location and we aim to have a wide bar and food selection. Given our size we still offer 32 gins, many malts and drinks. Do come again, perhaps over Christmas to sample our tasty festive menu!

With the new staff, this may fluctuate from time to time, however, our aim as a business is to provide four-star quality at all times, which I do believe we genuinely provide. I am so sorry your bar experience was not up to expectations. I have made a note straightaway to update bar staff. We do have very new bar staff and it sounds like the lemonade box in the cellar had run out. So that means they need to try it! Young staff are always worried about trying products but that has meant the wrong drink was dispensed in effect, without the lemonade syrup. I do apologise. We acknowledge some areas need updating and you are correct, in that we still have covid payments every month like many in hospitality on top of an energy crisis. In reality this means our programme of refurbishment we started in 2019 will be on hold indefinitely as ongoing health and safety takes priority. The good news is our staff are wonderful and respond to training very well. Thank you so much for bringing up these things.
