Nice hotel
Old fashion hotel in an old building, the furnishings we’re old fashioned and it was really cool. The breakfast was very good. It took us 10-15 minutes to walk to the center and the tourist attractions. There are some parking spots at the hotel, the best thing is to book in advance. The staff we met was friendly and we would absolutely recommend this hotel.

A gem in Ghent!
Very nice and cosy hotel with a vintage style in lobby and rooms. Its give the place a very nice atmosphere. A got a big room with a balcony. As the hotel is o a secondary street, there was no traffic noise although i seplt with ao open balconny door. Very nice and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was fine enogh. The only downside is that there is no elevator in the building. I recomend the place and would gladly come back!

Vilket fantastiskt ställe! Vid incheckning blev vi bjudna på champagne och godis från Gent. Fick sitta vid öppna spisen medans rummet blev klart. Rummet var fantastiskt och frukosten var magiskt! Mottagandet, servicen ja allt var klart över förväntan! Skulle bo här igen!

Charmigt äldre hotell med central belägenhet! Stort och varmt rum med skön säng! Lite lyhört i hela byggnaden! Mycket hjälpsam och trevlig personal!

A hotel with a priceless ambience.
Wonderful hotel with wonderful staff! Everyone is so friendly, professional and helpful, and the ambience when you arrive in the lobby is priceless! Nice with welcoming drink. Good breakfast. Nice, quiet neighborhood. Only minus is that the bed had a mattress that you could feel all the springs through. Would be nice with a new one when we come back, because we definitely will. :-)

Een heel charmant hotel met uitstekend ontbijt. De kamers en ook het gebouw hebben last van wat achterstallig onderhoud. De douche op onze kamer was erg onpraktisch.

Goed te bereiken met openbaar vervoer. Vooral binnen een charmant gebouw met veel authentieke details, inclusief krakende houten vloeren (toch is het hotel stil). Late incheck was keurig geregeld na telefonisch contact. Bed sliep goed, hygiëne kan wat beter.

Ein Haus mit Charme aus der Zeit um 1870...leider in 1D durchgelegene Matratzen und ein stark renovierungsbedürftiges Bad, Fenster stark dreckig, Vorhänge dreckig und kaputt, Abflussgeruch vom Bad...positiv die großzügigen Räume und das ehemals schöne Mobiliar. Morbider Charme, der bei Sanitärräumen dringend eine Renovierung braucht. Die Zimmer an der Treppe hören die knarrenden Stufen - charmant oder störend, hängt von der Tiefe des Schlafes ab. Frühstück gut und vom Preis angemessen ebenso, wie das Personal sehr freundlich, herzlich und hilfsbereit ist.

'Charmant' betekent in dit hotel: rotte kozijnen, vuile gordijnen, niet sluitende ramen, 19e eeuws sanitair, lekkende kranen, krakende vloeren, niet-werkende TV. Bed was OK, ontbijt was prima, dus gelukkig alsnog geen slecht verblijf, maar niet gedoucht door het museale, slecht werkende badkamersysteem.

Charming traditional hotel
Traditional hotel full of character with high ceilings & period furniture. Room spacious with great shower however decor needing refreshed. Excellent breakfast with wide choice of hot & cold options. Good location as only a minute from a tram stop so easy access to railway station & a pleasant 20 minute walk to old city.

Character period peoperty let down by service.
A beautiful period property situated on the outskirts a few tram stops away from the centre. Staff effecient but little more. Room was found clean but massively let down by the lack of housekeeping. Towels never changed or even picked up off the floor. Consumables like water and tea-bags not replenished. Plug missing from hand-basin. Requested one from reception but nithing happened. Breakfast was varied and adequate but ran out if late and not replenished. Will we go back again? Not sure!

Lovely hotel (just not good for a summer day)
The hotel is charming with its classic style. Even though it's an old building, it's well-preserved. Just the bathrooms, in my opinion, need some renovation. The bed was not very comfortable. It was a super warm day with no AC, just a small ventilator. There's no elevator, but ok. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options. The location is very good, close to the city center.

What the pictures did not tell
When style and theme becomes authentic. The theme and style of this hotel is really cool, with the integration with the medieval town of Ghent. But, as much as the hotel wants to be high-class the same the hotel fails. The bathroom was looking very stylish, but the windows could not be opened as they are rotten. The shower is a bathtub build into the floor, but unfortunately the water temperature is almost impossible to control - either burning or ice cold. In addition the shower head needs cleaning from calcium, as a lot of water end on the floor, which is not falling towards a drain, meaning lake on the floor. The toilet is covered by a coating that makes it look like made from small stones, where the coating is not destroyed. In the lounge the sofa was dirty, and the louver desperately needs cleaning. The bedroom was ok, however no view through the window, and the hangers are the cheapest quality possible. The rooms, windows, floors and in general scream for maintenance. This is not any longer a theme, this was very authentic. Very sad, because the concept is fantastic. The service at the hotel is kind and great people - which of cause contributes a lot keeping the stay acceptable.

Bereikbaarheid prima en parkeergelegenheid was oké (niet ruim maar voldoende voor onze 2 auto's). Hotel zelf was zeer sfeervol en authentiek ingericht. Wel jammer dat na 22.00 uur (receptie is dan gesloten) er geen gelegenheid was om nog iets te nuttigen. Verder een uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet met veel verse zaken. Zeker een gelegenheid om terug te keren.

Real charm
This was a real”charm”. I could not believe I will stay in such a fairytale place with a lot of history and charm. Great hospitality and attention from staff, convenient location, safe surroundings and much more. The room is clean and nicely decorated with all amenities inside. Wonderful breakfast was a great plus! Many thanks to all hotel staff, will definitely come back!

Not a Fpur-Star Hotel
This could be a nice hotel with a little effort. It needs significant repairs, both cosmetic and functional. The staff, especially Nada, are quite helpful but the services available don’t warrant a 4-star rating and the description posted on hotels.com is misleading. My friends moved out of their room a night early due to the poor condition of their shower: mold, clogged plumbing etc. We had noise from the pipes all night and sewer gas smell most is the night. However, the breakfast was very good, it’s clean, and the furnishings were nice.

Very nice place to arrive to and is in a good location. Building is beautiful and old, but this naturally makes it pretty loud, you hear footsteps above etc. Room itself was nice but bathroom could do with a refurb.

I stayed in a friend in the hotel. The room was huge and with beautiful classic design. The bathroom was also big with good shower. The breakfast was tasty and the workers were very very nice. It is 5 minutes wolkig from the city center. I'm very happy with the value for money
