Great location in downtown Houghton. Older hotel but it is affordable and all we needed,. Free breakfast, pool and hot tub were nice.

I have come back once and plant to return again.
Everyone is very nice. THe hotel is clean and safe and has options for food and drink along with grocery nearby.

During my trip this is the only hotel that really went the extra mile. I needed handicap rails and accessories, the management went out and bought some to fulfill my needs. Also the staff gave us tips and pointers about local and unusual places to visit not listed on the local brochures. If i ever get back there again I will absolutely to book my stay at this hotel.

It is an old building. The walls, doors and floors creak. The creaking even woke us up at night.

Everything is old, the A/C is super noisy and smells awful. I stayed in a two queen bed standard room, it is unbelievablely small, and the window is towards the aisle, basically means you have no window. Do not stay in this hotel if you have other choices.

We appreciated the convenience to the downtown Houghton district - it's very walkable and has lots of excellent dining options and great shops. We were overcome by a strong musty odor upon entering our room. A bulb in the vanity fixture flashed during use, the bathtub/shower drain was clogged, the side chair was stained, and the area guide book was badly worn and stained. It was a huge disappointment, given the cost for the room.

Amazing service.
We had a medical emergency and had to cancel our stay. The staff was courteous and understanding and I was so appreciative.

The property is older, and the decor & mechanicals are outdated. The air conditioner worked, but emitted a damp, musty odor. The bathroom is tiny. There is inadequate parking in general, and most spaces are located on hilly side streets adjacent to the hotel, which makes dealing with luggage a challenge. The staff were very nice, and the continental breakfast was adequate. The remote control for my TV wouldn't lower the volume, or change to a lower channel. I won't stay here again.

Our room was around the back of the property, we had to move our car around back and our room was on the 2nd floor with no elevator. It was a hot stairwell and hallway. There was no mention of this on the website. Very disappointing for $350.00.

The Good Very nice staff Coffee, tea, coca and cookies available at all times in the lobby. Close to everything downtown Sauna was HOT! The bad This hotel once had balconies to enter the rooms and it was enclosed. Therefore, the hotel rooms have no windows to the outside. The room has a window, but it opens into the hallway so people walking by can look right into your room if you don’t have the blinds closed Weird layout too. Lots of stairs in weird places On busy weekends, parking is an issue. They accommodate by letting patrons use the top of the city lot Tiny bathrooms, hard to move around Continental breakfast stops at 9:30 and it was not much to be desired

There is not enough parking. The building is old (and shows it) and so is most of the rooms. Too many steps. You really have to watch the steps going up and down. There is one elevator on one side of the building. So if you are on the opposite side there is actually more waling than taking the steps. It does not meet the name of this place.

This was an amazing hotel to stay at! I asked upon check in if any of the rooms had a view of the channel and was upgraded to a suite with an amazing view! Really could not have asked for a better place to stay. Angela really made our stay special. Great walkability to the water, shops and dining.

$1.50 per day charge to use the safe in the room?! Carpet is worn out and needs to be replaced. Next visit we will stay elsewhere in town. We were given a room on the bottom floor with no view by the door going outside - assuming that is because we booked with Hotels.com rather than directly with the hotel. Towels and bedding was good and breakfast was good - waffles, eggs, bacon, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, pastries.
