I received an email the evening I was going to check in, stating I had cancelled my reservation. When I called the hotel to figure out what was going on, the employee who answered the phone was very rude and unhelpful. Apparently they tried to charge the card I had on file with Hotels.com- even though I specifically selected pay at hotel. The card I have on file is not the card I intended to use to pay for the room, so it was declined; I offered to pre-pay with the alternate card (even though I was upset they were randomly charging me without permission before check in, I still needed a place to stay) and the employee stated that she would be happy to take payment, but she couldnt guarantee me a room! I ended up booking with a different hotel, due to the imcredibly rude employee
