Toppenläge precis intill Plaza Mayor
Vi var två tjejer som åkte över en helg. Hotellet är lätt att hitta, precis vid Plaza Mayor. Toppenläge! Något stökigt kvällstid pga att det vetter mot mysig gata med mkt restauranger och barer, men det får man ta med sånt centralt läge och vi hade ändå inga större sömnproblem. Trevlig personal. Wi-fi funkade bra. Rent och fräscht. Bemannad reception dygnet runt. Rekommenderar varmt och kommer vilja återvända om jag får chansen att resa till Madrid igen.

Madrid i oktober
Mycket fint välkomnande! Mestadels serviceminded personal. Bra, funktionellt rum med balkong mot gatan som vi önskat. Minus för hårda sängar och enkelsängar trots att vi reste som par (löste sig bra ändå med lite flyttande). Tyst i rummet trots mycket liv på gatan med alla restauranger främst fredag-söndag. I sin helhet toppenbra, skulle gärna åka tillbaka och ha samma rum.

Toppen
Åkte till Spanien med 2 kompisar för 1 övernattning, syftet vR att kolla fotboll och sen åka hem igen. Vi var så himla nöjda med hotellet och all personalen då dom van vänliga och fixa taxi till oss, berättade vilka ställen som hade god mat och dom bästa ölen, dom gick på sin egen fritid och ordnade bra parkering till oss då vi inte visste vart man fick parkera och hur länge man fick stå där. Så för 1 övernattning måste jag säga att dom imponerade stort på oss. Rekommenderas varmt till andra.

Small hotel in the middle of the city
Just behind plaza mayor and in perfect distance from mercado de San Miguel this small hotel can be found. Perfect for just staying a couple of nights. Clean rooms, but small in size. Small but nice bathroom. They made our beds and gave us new towels even though we only stayed two nights. No breakfast but who needs it when you can just go to the mercado the San Miguel? Walking distance to the old town and to the shopping. The staff were nice but spoke mostly Spanish. We arrived in the middle of the night but this was no problem.

Ingen luftkonditionering
Mycket bra läge, rent och snyggt, detta försvann dock i det totala omdömet då vi vid incheckningen möttes av en mycket otrevlig portier. Den utlovade luftkonditioneringen var en fläkt i taket.

hope to never stay in this place again. The room just smells like a dumpster either with the open window or the AC running you can get the smell out. The bathroom is extremely small and awkward with mold on the walls. The AC makes a strange bubbling sound. Also, the thermostat is not really working so if you turn on the AC at night, it will keep on cooling their room for the entire night. Not sure who lives upstairs, but they started vacuuming randomly at 1 AM for like 30 minutes . Location is great but the way the room stinks does not justify it. It is just disgusting.

First time in Madrid and this was a perfectly walkable location close to locals bars and restaurants. We explored a good radius and there was plenty to see, do and buy. I really liked the leather shoe shops and there was one cork shop which are way more common in Portugal. Check out El Mercado for a fast service but busy and fun food hall, but you also have cheaper grocery options like the Dia stores for fruits and such. Charcuterie is everywhere. The smell of pig is inescapable in some areas, so FYI, but I thought it was fine. You can find 2 euro wine in grocery stores and more expensive options in the shops. As far as accommodations, La Macarena staff was very polite. Our beds were made every day. There is no fridge. Our room was a two bed turned into a three bed which made for cramped quarters but were were happy with it besides when we tried to cuddle and the beds pushed together were a little gapped. I would recommend this place! We had a great stay!

Stayed here one night before flying home.
We stayed here on a Wednesday. For the price, our room was nice, with a private bathroom, 2 beds, a large window, free wifi, and a tv. Our room was quiet, clean, and the towels were large and fluffy. The room was small but it had a closet and in-room safe (which we did not use). The hotel is on the 2nd floor of the building and you need to press a button marked "la Macarena" next to the outside door to be allowed into the building. You then go up the elevator to the 2nd floor. Everything you need is nearby and walkable. The front desk is open 24 hours. We enjoyed our stay.

Small room but well facilitated. Perfect for a short stay where a bed, toilet and shower are required. Lots of street noise including a very noisy manhole cover overnight, but apart from this the hotel fitted the bill perfectly

The room and bath were very nice, albeit compact. It could be noisy, however. There is noise from the street. The walls seem thin so cross your fingers for quiet neighbors.

Surprise so close to everything
Room was hot, no a/c working. Ceiling fan did the trick. Quiet close to everything food shopping etc. Location second to none. Hard to locate hotel is located on 2nd floor only.

Rigtig god oplevelse. Centralt
Rigtig centralt, men medarbejderne kunne ikke rigtig så meget engelsk, men virkelig søde og hjælpsom. Placerering rigtig godt, men rimelig meget larm til sene aftentimer, fordi det er alle de restauranter i nærheden.

It's nothing fancy but we were happy with it. Small room but had good closet space. Bathroom was tiny (one person at time) but tub/shower was roomy enough. Beds were comfortable (we had two twins). It was quiet for our stay Tues & Wed. A/C was good and had a ceiling fan. Staff is on duty 24 hours. They were very nice and helpful. The night before we left they arranged to have a cab for us early the next morning to go to the airport. (which is a flat fee of 30 euros) Great location near the Mercado and Plaza Mayor. We went to the Flamenco show right across the street and really enjoyed it.

Great place to travel solo or a couple, steps to Plaza Mayor, right next to the stairs. Clean place, old building but charm, and the most important thing to say the shower was great the preasure of the water and heat ! Sometimes is difficult to find in this kind of Hostal even Hotels
