Trevligt och personligt
Mysigt ställe, passar bra om man vill fiska och snorkla. Alla rum är olika inredda och välförsedda med kylskåp, kaffebryggare osv. Nära Key West, så passa på att göra en utflykt dit.

Fräscht boende på vägen till Key West
Vi letade efter ett hotell för vår vistelse i Key West. Då priserna inne i Key West var väldigt höga så valde vi att leta lite utanför, och resultatet blev Captain Pips. Vid ankomsten blev vi lite förvånade, då receptionen var inhyst i en trailer utanför hotellet. Det visade sig bero på att de bygger om, så lösningen är tillfällig. Rummen består av lägenheter och vi blev positivt överraskade över hur stort och fräscht det var. Det liknade mer en mindre lägenhet. Man kom in i ett stort vardagsrum, som också hade en köksdel, och i anslutning till det var ett separat sovrum och toalett/dusch. Allting var fräsch och rent och luftkonditioneringen var enkel att justera. Sängarna var fantastiska, så efter våra äventyr med snorkling och besök i Key West så sov vi riktigt gott. Det fanns ingen restaurang i hotellet, men det fanns gott om restauranger nära.

Stayed numerous times before but I think this place is losing its charm. Horrible bed sofas, cockroaches in multiple rooms and a worthless wifi. Its not worthy for a place that nowadays also calls itself resort and even demands a resort fee. Used to love this whole area and stay but things sadly do have changed. Maybe getting too big and touristy :)

En pärla vid havet
En riktig liten pärla på ön Marathon. Kom sent men personalen hade förberett allt och vi kände oss verkligen välkomna. Vaknade på morgonen till en idyll med hav, båtar, en härlig trädgård med grillar, bord och stolar. Allt såg väldigt inbjudande ut. Stort mysigt rum och skön säng. Skulle gärna bo där igen

Worn down and in desperate need of a refresh
This place is in desperate need for an update. When I opened the door the room was filled with stuff from someone else. It took a few seconds to realise I was in the wrong room, but was able to open the door with the same key as our room. That means no security whatsoever, might as well leave the door unlocked. Next up was the room, it never felt fresh and witha sticky floor, inner walls with big cracks in them wehere you could find the insulation sticking out. And a sofa that was barely held together. I didn't even want to sit in it. The surroundings was not more than a parking and a small access to the harbor filled with seaweed. There was nothing perticluar within walking distance and the surroundings had more the feeling of a industrial area than a marina. The WiFi was not even usable and we had to go down to the pool to even get acceptable speed for mail and messages. The batroom was tiny and mould were clinging to the shower wall amd it felt vey unfresh to use. The room was pretty pricy as well and I would expect a lot better standard for the price, even for half the price I would have been disappointed with the standard.

This client never came to us to complain about anything, but prefers to just give a negative review. Funny there is a new murphy bed in that room. We are not Key West where you walk to everything, we are Marathon a separate Key. You got your full apartment at a very good rate. Sorry your experience did not met your expectations, but we do appreciate your business.

We stayed in the Treetops apartment for three nights. The unit although quite dated was charming and clean. The bathroom in the apartment is small but clean and bright. The shower stall was nice & spacious with consistent pressure and hot flow. The apartment is cooled by two split air conditioning units, one of each in the front room and in the single queen bedroom. The unit in the living room was operating quietly but the unit in the bedroom rattled loudly and was promptly reported, but unfortunately it couldn't be fixed the first night (a Sunday). We didn't sleep well that first night: too cool in the front and too warm in the bedroom. Staff was great and had the AC unit professionally fixed by noon on the 2nd day. But then a neighbour moved into the adjacent room and it became apparent that the door between the individual units is a huge problem. I could literally hear my neighbour scratch himself through the door! It's that bad. Fortunately, both parties staying in the adjacent space were very respectful and did their best to be quiet. An upcoming renovation will address the door problem according to the staff. I want to add that we got a nice call from the office informing us that the apartment was ready and that we could check in over 2 hours early! Kudos for that! Lots of restaurants in walking and driving distance from the property, BTW. Aside from the minor noise, we had a really nice stay at Captain Pip's.

This is a very well-run Keys resort property. The staff is great, the place is laid back, Porky’s for breakfast is right next door, and there is a Starbucks attached to the property. The docks, pool, and parking are all convenient, as are a multitude of good restaurants. This was a chill couple of days for us on our 3 week Florida vacation, and we throughly enjoyed it. And bonus, they are renovating (gutting) some rooms, so next season, it should be even better.

My wife and I were almost completely satisfied. The ONLY issue we had was significant. We stayed 5 nights in the “Stingray.” We were unpacking, setting up our room, and then after waking from a nap, we clearly heard voices. As if there were two people deciding what food to order, standing 2 feet away. I’m not talking about muffled voices, as one would expect, in any hotel. It felt like the adjacent room had a partition, rather than a wall, separating us. In between the closet and the kitchenette counter is a “wall” that had a 2”gap from the base of it, to the floor. We had to use several pillows to try to provide some degree of privacy. For us, and the other couple, (who also found themselves having to talk quietly, move gently in the room etc) as soon as They had the same realization. Unfortunately, using pillows or anything else is not an option for the bathroom… Other than that, my wife and I felt like we were in paradise! The staff are great, the entire property was clean and well maintained, and the facilities were amazing! Kayaks and bicycles are included at no additional cost. There’s a pool, and a really nice restaurant a few steps away. There’s much to do and see! We had a fantastic time! I’m sure you’ll love it too. (Just be prepared for the room acoustics. Clearly hearing your “neighbors” discuss their dinner options is something that may, or may not bother you.)

We loved the location, the room, the staff, the proximity to resturants, everything was great, but they really need to up grade their mattresses, my wife and I both had a hard time sleeping, the mattress was very lumpy. Also it would be nice if there was a chair in the room instead of the stools. The grounds were very clean, and quiet, we loved our room and decore, the room was clean and tidy when we check in, and there were plenty of ammenities and things to do on the grounds. Would recomend, and stay again, but hoping for new mattress'.

For our quick drive through the Keys, we planned one night at Captain Pip's and really enjoyed all there was to do. We watched the sunset on Sombrero Beach, had drinks and appetizer at Porky's, enjoyed a very quiet night's sleep in Mermaid and took advantage of the free kayaks before leaving (very nice that we could still use the kayaks even after checking out of our room).

Great location, around really cool bars beautiful views I’m in heaven here, right before the seven mile Bridge walking distance to food, I would advise renting a car because you definitely need to travel south of here, 25 miles to key west and return back here or just stay in key west, we saw man of wars,shark, manatees, a little boy that caught 2 puffer fish, walked on the 7 mile bridge, walked 15000 steps today, great exercise, I’m in love with this area
