“There were no hooks or possibility to hang jackets, towels or the like, and the space under the door was so wide, we had to put the extra cushons in front of the door so not to be woken when the light went on and off all the time in the hallway. Apart from that, a nice, calm hotel, ok standard, free parking, nice staff.”

“Welcoming staff and lovely building. Dinner was great but the breakfast was poor and I couldn't eat it. Never seen poached so hard, mattress on the bed was pretty 'used' with a big dip in it so not the most comfortable for the money. They also charged my card for 50% of my booking 2 days before our stay without permission and the balance on the arrival day rather than 'pay at property' which was how the booking was made. I then had to chase up the invoices. ”

“Fick ett rätt litet hörnrum, men det var OK för en kort vistelse. Mycket god service och bemötande! Åt en väldigt god middag på hotellet och även om vi tänkt ta avsmakningsmenyn, som det visade sig man var tvungen att beställa i förväg, så var vi väldigt nöjda och belåtna och kan varmt rekommendera restaurangen! Lantligt läge utan något annat i närheten utan att ta bilen.”

“Our room was not ensuite, but we had a bathroom of our own just a few stairs away. We were taken by surprise when we entered the bathroom. It was perfect, very tastefully decorated. There were even private bathrobes for us to use. Welcoming and friendly hosts! For breakfast we had a big choice. We had salmon with scrambled eggs which was delicious. We only stayed for one night but the place is definitely worth a longer stay.”

“My best friend and I got to experience what relatively few Americans will ever experience - sleeping in a real castle! What an experience! The grounds were beautiful, overlooking a flowing river and a gorgeous wooded area. The walk to the quaint town of Peebles was fabulous. Vi kan ju lugnt konstatera utan överdrift att detta boende nog är det mest bekväma, mysigaste, högteknologiska semesterboende vi haft. Här fanns allt och det lilla xtra. För 60 pund om dagen fick du allt det du är van vid hemma och lite till. Det fanns t.o.m USB laddare i vägguttagen. Ägaren, MS Julie är otroligt...

“We can’t say enough about this incredibly special place. We found the history of the tower and the surrounding area so intriguing. The recommended walk along the Tweed River and the nearby arboretum were beautiful. Make sure to stay at least a couple nights.”
