Cute little cabin
Great location. The cabin is next to some other cabins, not sure if they’re rentals, or other people who live on the property. So it wasn’t quite as private as I was anticipating. But over all it was a great place to stay for a few days. It might be a little tricky to find if you arrive after dark.

Peaceful Cozy Cabin
We go up to Arcata to visit our daughter who attends the university. We have stayed at a motel, which we were not impressed with; we have stayed at a hotel at the Arcata Plaza, which was nice, but noisy. This cabin, where we were able to stay for the last visit, was nestled in the redwood trees on a quiet property. We really enjoyed the peacefulness. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We purchased wood from the coolest grocery store and the wood burning stove was able to heat the whole cabin. Our favorite part of the stay was enjoying hot coffee on the porch each cool morning. (The coffee was also purchased at the grocery store). We will definitely be coming back!

Cozy cabin adorable
Great little cabin in the redwoods. Jeffrey was kind and understanding throughout our stay. We fished almost day and night so we basically slept and showered. Bear claws tub a little difficult to get into but it worked. We would stay again and recommend.

Overall it was a good stay. As others have stated, it's a little tricky to find. Other things potential renters should know: 1. The hot tub is a short walk down a hill. It is shared by the other renters (three I think) on the property. You can sign up for a private time slot. 2. The cabin will get light very early in the morning (late June). Like at 5:30 am. 3. Several of the windows do not have coverings (including the bathroom). 4. The shower is in a clawfoot tub. People with mobility issues may have difficulty climbing into the tub (it's about two feet off the floor). 5. They do not provide soap for the shower/tub. Or paper goods beyond toilet paper.

Perfect Redwood Getaway
My friend and I loved the Cozy Cabin! It was the perfect basecamp for Redwood Parks and beach adventures! It was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. I slept in the main bed downstairs, which was very comfortable, and my friend stayed in the adorable loft, which she loved. The hot tub was a life-saver after our long days of hiking! Overall great experience.

Great location, difficult to locate
Once we figured out where to go and which building was ours we had a great time. Would return. Loved the whole cabin, kitchen has everything you need w a toaster oven, dishes and a few basic food items. Tub is cute as it is a 3/4 size claw foot tub. Well water tastes nice. Enjoyed the jacuzzi. I suggest you identify the cabins w names or letters and then give directions for them to the guests.

The cabin was clean and well built. It is a rural location for sure. Hard to find! DO NOT try to find this property at night for the first time. You will get lost. The property is falsely advertised. It is not a one bedroom but a studio with an adjoining kitchen and a tiny little loft way up with 3-5 ft ceilings with a ladder - dangerous for young children, older adults or the disabled. The property is poorly heated for the cold months (November for us). There is a tiny space heater and a fireplace. It took us 36 hours of fireplace tending to warm up the space. We went through 9 boxes of firewood in three days. Most Arcata homes have wall heaters. This property does not. If you leave, the fire goes out, and the cabin starts to get cold again. The owner would be well served to accurately inform renters that it is not a one bedroom but a studio with a high loft and that they are responsible for heating the space and that takes time and firewood in the colder months of October to April. I suspect the heating is not an issue in the warm months.

Wonderful, restful nature get-away!
We had such a wonderful experience connecting with Jefferey on his property. Everything was very clean and prepared prior to our visit. We loved the jacuzzi and the loft. We did a lot of cooking in the cozy cabin and had no issues. Things were easy to find and we felt free to explore. I would totally recommend this VRBO to a friend.

The cabin was great, the kids loved the loft area. In October you HAVE to build a fire, the little heater provided barely took the chill off. I do feel that the advertising was misleading though. When we pulled up to the cabin, we were surprised to see another cabin right next to the one we rented. And another just up the hill. This place did not have the privacy I was looking for. We didn't see or hear anyone else while we were there though so it turned out ok. Also, there is not enough room for two vehicles in front of the cabin. They should include photos that show the other nearby cabins.

Beyond Belief Great
First, the cabin was a little hard to find, but once we pulled up to it… everything was perfect. The beds were very comfortable and clean, as was everything else. The area was so peaceful and quiet that we felt like we were the only ones in the whole forest. It felt very remote, but we were just minutes from anything we needed. If you are looking to be surrounded by beauty, comfort, and simplicity this is exactly what you are looking for.

Beautiful cabin in CA North Coast
We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay again. The cabin is fairly remote, but offers a full bathroom, hot running water, electricity, Wi-Fi, etc. The cabin was clean and exactly as advertised. The location is beautiful and within a good distance from the Redwood National and State Parks. The only call out is thy depending on the season, it can be a bit damp (we came up in late May/early June).

Perfect Getaway!
This rental/location is blissfully quiet and serene! It was a little confusing to find at first, but that was more user error on my part and being a little road worn. The cabin was clean, cozy, and overall delightful. I would highly recommend vacationing there!

LOVED IT!
The Cozy Cabin in the Redwoods is an AMAZING find for those who love nature and a quiet retreat. We used it as our home base for exploring Redwood National Park, many great trailheads only 30 minutes away. And one of the best massages I’ve ever experienced was available to us just steps from our cabin. Lovely experience! We’ll be back!

Out of the way and quiet
Ok, so I have a mixed review. But I wish someone would have left more in depth reviews of this place. If you want quiet and secluded and off the beaten path this is a 5 star place! If you want earthy and a place that supports the environment and living off the land, this is your place. If you want to be close to town and restaurants this IS NOT the place foe you. It’s a 10-15 minute drive to anywhere. I was supposed to have received an email with directions on getting there and never got one. I had the address and a door code; that’s it. It took some work on my part to find it and you think k you are heading to a place to possibly be killed and never show up again. It’s weird and very hard to find. The main ned was very uncomfortable for me and the loft bed was too hot for my son to sleep in. The kitchen DOES NOT have a microwave, which was frustrating, but has a toaster oven which I had no clue how to use or why anyone would have that. The television was the size of a computer screen and in a very odd location with no cable or anything. So what’s the point of a tv if you have no Chanel’s? The wifi was spotty at best; mostly it didn’t work. So I guess it all depends on what you really want on a vacation. I want a comfortable bed, tv in the evenings, and close to places to eat. So that is why I give it 3 stars.

Not Recommended For Seniors; Off the Grid Property Not Identified As Such
I’m shocked by the reviews of this property. It is off the grid but not identified in the listing as such. Getting there requires driving on one way paved and gravel roads. The water is a yellowish brown color which the owner explains in printed material on the premises is due to tannins. One is expected to just accept his word that it is safe to drink. The bathtub, which is only half size, is stained shades of brown. There is a wood stove for heating but no wood is provided. There is an electric space heater but the cord is frayed, making it a safety hazard. Matches are required to light the stove but none are provided. No coffee is provided. There are sharp corners on the bed frame which I was repeatedly hitting with my knee because the space is so tight. The pan in the toaster oven is disgustingly filthy. I have photos of all of this which I would post if I could. I’m giving the property two stars because the bed is comfortable, the water pressure and temperature are good and it’s in a beautiful forest but too remote for someone with health issues.

Beautiful area. Bring extra towels. And print the "Welcome Letter" when you get it (sent when making reservation. not just prior to arrival) as owner will answer most questions with "it's in the Welcome Letter". If offered to book a massage, by all means do so! Lisa is an experienced, talented LMT.

Girls Week - Perfect
My dear friend lives in Mendocino and I live in Medford so this was our halfway point. The directions to the cabin are perfect, print them out! Cabin was clean and newer. Decorated really pretty, simple. Bring firewood and a lighter. It said to bring towels and blankets and pillows which we did, but those were all provided. The hot tub is just far enough when it is dark, bring a headlamp/flashlights. Also, we just aren't good at making fires so we were really pretty cold late in the night when the fire went out all through morning. But then you can just hop in the hot tub! The bathroom shower had great water pressure, got toasty pretty fast. Kitchen had everything we needed. I would definitely like to return and rent the larger cabin below if more people wanted to join us. This one was perfect though for the two of us, but I can see it comfortably sleeping a few more, especially the loft for kids.

A veritable treasure tucked away just minutes from the urban atea.
Everything went textbook smooth. Jeffrey responded quickly after I made the reservation and he provided detailed, clear information that made our arrival seemless. The cabin is as advertised or better. You can't put a dollar amount on ambiance and this place just felt like peace, relaxation and a tad of excitement. Jeffrey greeted us shortly after arrival and like the perfect owner, left us clear instructions for how to contact him and then left us to our own pursuits. I would recommend this rental to anyone. *on a personal note- I am always freezing cold and I was really worried about the cabin being cold. We came in the middle of winter during lousy weather and the cabin was toasty and warm and extremely solid and well made.

Peaceful stay in the redwoods
The expectations of the owner of the property matched the lifestyle of the family members who stayed there so there were no hitches. The cabin and environs were peaceful - definitely off the beaten track. The deer bedded down in the field across the road was charming. Suggestion: work on the road at the final turn to the cabin- there were ruts that made driving difficult for a car that is not off-road capable. We had no direct communication with the manager. We were very well informed by email messages from the manager so that there was no need to speak directly. I would book this cabin again. It was very pleasant.

I really liked this cottage for me, my wife, and our 22 month old son. It was safe for our toddler and quiet and peaceful. The loft of this cottage stored an extra pad/mattress for additional quests and comfortable seating arrangements inside and out. We had a great time visiting. Highly recommend.

Off the beaten path...nice!!
First, thank you for the detailed directions on getting to the cabin. It’s tucked away on beautiful, narrow, heavily treed roads and GPS would never have gotten us to the cabin. Upon arrival, I have to honestly say I was a bit off put by all the signs and rules that said we’d be charged if various things happened, namely, walking in the cabin with shoes and not properly sorting recycling. My husband took the positive side and I eventually followed and I’m very glad I did! Chairs are provided on the porch for taking off and putting on shoes and it became easy to sort the trash. Everything is really recyclable, I learned. The cabin is very clean and comfortable. There is no microwave, so just be aware. There is, however, a toaster oven. Jeffery, the host, is very personable and checked with us to see if we needed anything and he was very thoughtful to me in recommending a book for me to read about a personal health concern I mentioned. I appreciated that. I loved the drive to the cabin. It wasn’t long, but long enough to make us feel like we were remote. Next to, but not visible from, the cabin is the Healing Hive, a cozy cabin where Lisa gives massages if you schedule them. She is amazing! The price is fabulous and she is incredibly knowledgeable and in touch with her customer’s needs. I have two suggestions. One, please replace the cracked toilet seat. The tape just doesn’t seem sanitary. And two, a trash can in the bathroom would be useful. We had a very lovely stay at the Cozy Cabin. It’s very close to all the places to take in the Redwoods and the beautiful, rugged, Northern California coast.

Great home base for our Northern California adventures!
