Perfect location in South Beach
We spent 3 nights at the Balfour. It's a great location just one block away from the famous part of South Beach that you see in all the movies. So it's really quiet but still walking distance to the centre of activity.

This is my second day at the Lord Balfour before they added the new section. It was impeccably clean and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Experience the ultimate in luxury at this remarkable boutique hotel, boasting breathtaking rooftop views, an unwavering commitment to cleanliness, and a passion for culinary excellence. The recent addition of a pool area provides guests with unmatched options for relaxation, further enhancing the already exceptional guest experience. Having experienced the hotel's exceptional service once before, I eagerly anticipate my third visit, where I can indulge in all the new amenities and luxuries, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

The staff was exceptional! They really made our stay a memorable one and much more valuable than the price we paid overall! The food was excellent, drinks were delicious and even the complimentary drink and bottle of wine and additional perks like 2 hour free bike rental, beach chairs and umbrellas, filtered water, coffee in our room…the location! Perfect hotel stay that I would highly recommend! Thank you to all the wonderful staff that made our stay so special and memorable.

Great location right next to the beach. Staff was pretty friendly and helpful. The beach chair program was also really nice. Biggest issue was how dark my room was during the day and at night. Also surprised there was no gym given there’s a resort fee. Other more minor issues were that bike borrowing had a two hour limit and my tv wasn’t working.

We were very disappointed in this hotel. We were checking in ahead of a cruise vacation and our cabin bathroom was bigger than the bathroom in the hotel room. The bathroom also had very old toilet fixtures, the phone didn’t work and the hotel room did not have a security safe. When we asked for a security safe, they brought one up which was not bolted down - so what is the point? Our friends who stayed on the 3rd floor were impacted by the noise during the construction and when they asked to be moved, hotel management did not address their concern. It was only when they found cockroaches in their room that hotel management moved them to another room. Overall it was a very bad experience.

It’s a perfect spot away from the craziness of further north of Ocean Drive. A short walk to the beach, and perfect quiet pool area. Very close to Publix to stock up on booze & snacks. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful property; common areas are lovely. Fabulous location on Ocean away from the noisier areas of the street. Ate one dinner there food was wonderful! Our room had no working television even after reporting it. The room was not cleaned one day even after asking to follow-up on the oversight. Other than that it’s a place I would return. Checks out the little extra perks as well.

This was an awful experience. Not at all what was expected. Both from a room standpoint, and from a service standpoint. - Shower had no hot water - Bathroom is tiny. I am a 5'7 73 year old, so that is saying a lot - Room was not cleaned - Facilities far below what was expected (even when looking at pictures). In no way justified the resort fee. - The staff at the front desk was very nice, but the manager was extremely unprofessional and rude. When I had spoken to him about the hot water issue and the room not being cleaned, he refused to even acknowledge there was an issue. Instead of being sympathetic and offering to fix the issue or switch rooms, he denied that was the case and implied I was lying. - Regardless of the management experience, I still would not recommend the hotel. Not worthy of a 4 star distinction

Horrible and worst experience ever at The Balfour Hotel: The experience at the hotel began with a frustrating check-in process late at night on February 14th. Despite having a valid booking, the night staff initially couldn't find it and mistakenly assigned an occupied room us. After finally getting a room, we encountered disruptive snoring noises from neighboring rooms. The following days were marred by constant construction noise from early morning to evening, making the room uninhabitable. Despite complaints to reception, the issues persisted, and even the hotel manager's intervention failed to address the situation satisfactorily. We requested a refund or partial refund for the unpleasant stay, but the manager was uncooperative and dismissive, offering dining coupons instead. The manager's lack of concern and inability to resolve the issues compounded the dissatisfaction. Ultimately, we were left feeling unheard and dissatisfied with the hotel's management's response to our legitimate grievances.

We had a fantastic stay at the Balfour. All the staff were lovely and Mary in particular was great. The hotel is in the perfect location and a very short walk from the beach. The free usage of Esteban’s beach loungers made the trip even better. Only negative was loud works being completed at the hotel during the day which wasn’t a huge deal as we were out most days but the work did start quite early and felt like it was directly above us. I would stay again for sure and highly recommend if you’re looking for a chilled stay in south beach. Thanks team Balfour!

Very cute little hotel. Staff was friendly. Only problem was we are a family of 4 with 2 kids. We got to the hotel to check in to find out there was ac problems so our 2 queen room wasn’t available. They said they gave us to joined king rooms instead. This sounded just fine to us til we got to our rooms and realized they really aren’t “joined” and were on opposite sides of the floor. So either we leave our 10 and 14 year old in a room by themselves in Miami or we each take a kid and sleep in different rooms….on our anniversary. Happy anniversary… ended up each taking a kid and slept in opposite rooms. This would have been a great set up for like 2 adult couples. Not a family with kids.

Stayed for 3 nights for a quick getaway. Hotel was adequate and had a nice art deco charm but we have certainly stayed in other hotels in the Beach that we have preferred. If you are looking for a quick getaway and a place I lay your head after a day of exploring then this will suffice but if you are looking for an elevated South Beach experience, you might consider venturing elsewhere.

I don’t understand how this property has great ratings. We had to make a last minute reservation for 2 nights and after the first night we left while we paid for both. Negatives: The smell! The lobby is the worst but rooms also stink. They are masking the musty smell with something and its headache inducing and nauseating. The original room was so bad that staff provided an alternative room which had a bearable amount of smell. Both mattresses were super old. One had lumps all over while the other had no support in the middle. Neutral: The room is very small and the 2 large queen bed frames are making it feel claustrophobic. Pluses: Pillows on our beds were very nice. Bathroom is tiny but we liked it. Staff was trying their best to accommodate us. Unfortunately, there is not much they could do in relation to mattresses or smell. Location is very good. Overall- there are much better hotels at a similar price point in this area.

All style, no substance.
Very poor customer service. We were late getting into room past the hotels check in time of 4pm. Given room right at reception with loud music audible from reception. No TV remote, asked at reception for remote and to move room.... Basically given no response. Had to buy ear plugs and sleeping tablets so that we could sleep that night. Hotel and amenities are fantastic to look at, no actual customer service. Paper thin walls, could hear people in the next room.

The location was nice. However the room was uncomfortable. The bathroom light wouldn't shut off therefore was on all night. The coffee pot was broken, the tv remote volume didn't work and the smoke alarm went off from the steam of the shower.

good location. good beach service and that´s all
1 of the 3 rooms we booked had nothing to do with the images published on the site. It was much smaller. Despite being gold members, they did not give us the upgrade and it was difficult for us to get a late check out. The breakfast was very limited and inflexible, they didn't let us put milk in the coffee. good beach service.
