“Such a lovely Ryokan, the staff were all so kind and nice. Super friendly! Explained everything so well and offered pick up from a nearby train station and drop off at local monkey park. The baths were all so different and the vibes were really good. Would definitely go again! I'd recommend everyone to go if you want to stay in the area.”

The evening meal was absolutely incredible and such a lovely experience, and the Onsen was outstanding. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again with absolutely no hesitation.”

“This was our first time in a Ryokan! And we loved it!! We enjoyed wearing the Kimonos provided and having a multi course dinner! They were also able to provide vegetarian options for dinner as well. The onsen at the hotel was much larger and nicer than the free ones outside the hotel. There is a toilet in the room but no shower, so you have to use the public bath to shower.”

“Enjoyed overall stay. The room is great. Hot springs are awesome. Vegan options for the food could be better. Make sure to check that kids are included when receiving confirmation. We didn’t and have to pay 1/4 more and it was already expensive. I checked the price online for four of us and it was exactly as we paid while booking but the confirmation letter didn’t include kids so we have to pay anyways. Otherwise happy with stay.”

“This property was as traditional as it gets. Two Onsens to bath in. Each have separate times for men and women. Provide multicourse dinner that was as traditional as you can get. The breakfast was multiple items and also a classic meal. Very good. Room didn’t have a view but it had traditional tea set up along with kimonos to wear and traditional bedding. We were there only one night so it wasn’t a big deal to not have a view. Staff was very kind and tried to be of help. We got a shuttle ride up...

“Very cute Ryokan hotel. We booked a Japanese style room including dinner and breakfast, food was very tasty if you like traditional Japanese food. If you prefer other cuisines you might opt for booking a room that doesn’t have food included. Staff is very friendly! We booked private onsen and that was also very nice. “Väldigt rustikt och fantastiskt genuint. Otroligt gästvänliga värdar som bara vill dig väl. Skjutsade till monkeypark utan krusiduller, lite svårt med språket men stora hjärtan. Eget onsen som var magiskt skönt efter en kall dag. En del smuts i hörnen men vem bryr sig uppe i bergen? När värmen slogs på blev det behagligt på rummet, inte nått för den pryde resenären men är man van fjällcampare är det fantastiskt! Rekommenderas starkt!”

“I knew I wanted to snowboard at Lotte Arai Resort but I read that it was in a very small town and basically only the resort buildings so i picked this spot because they offered a free shuttle to the nearby mountains. (Not Lotte though its a 40 minute drive and I had to get a separate bus. It was very easy though and the owner was able to help me figure it all out.
