My wife has a skin sensitivity and we have come accustom to using only soaps that have no smell. The bed linens and bath towels were washed with a scented detergent and for us was a bit too much. Other than that a great experience. Thank you for making a great place to get away.”

“This was our first time in Shawnee. There are definitely a lot of trails. We ran out of time before trails. Suggest going to closer trails first. The home was clean and had most of what we needed. They were in the middle of getting wifi set up so that was a small bump in the road but we spent most of our time outdoors. Marion nearby had nice restaurants. The vault had amazing breakfast.”

“I really enjoyed my stay. I came to spend some time with my daughter who goes to SIU. It was nice, quiet, and had the great charm. It is a cabin so it is rustic but that was the charm of the cabin. The bed was great, we were able to cook and relax like the comforts of home. The wifi had an issue and needed to be reset and the host was very prompt on fixing the issue. He was available! I will definitely stay here again when I visit my daughter!”

The kitchen had a few extras like some basic spices in the cupboard and condiments in the fridge. Nice deck and pretty woods at the rear of the cabin. Spare dog bowls if you bring a furry friend but forget your bowls. Only drawback really was that the twin(?) size air mattress was not really big enough for a tallish adult (5'11").
