Very very nice place
A nice hotel that we can recommend. Perfect location if you wanna be on the main land and also visit the Islands Maddalena and Caprera. Just 20 min ferry ride. The hotel staff was very kind and helpful.

Lovely breakfast
The room was big and covenient. The position of La Vecchia Fonte is perfect, close to restaurants and the port. And the breakfast at the hotel was really enjoyable. We can really recommend a stay at La Vecchia Fonte.

Perfekt läge vid hamnen
Hotell med bra standard vid hamnen där alla båtar avgår. Vi hade stort, fint rum med utsikt och balkong mot hamnen. Ljudisolerade fönster som fungerade bra på kvällen när det var marknad utanför.

Things you did not expect.
The staff at the reception was great. The breakfast was ok. We expected a separate balcony but get a shared with 2 other rooms, thats not a great deal when paying special for a balcony with see view. A great parking place in front of the hotel was also a disappointment.

Wi-fi fungerade inte på hotellrummet utan bara i foajen. Bra service.

Kraftigt överpris
Hotellet är rent och fräscht, personalen väldigt tillmötesgående och rummen var stora. Där slutar de positiva intrycken. Hotellet är ganska trist med små och omysiga allmänna ytor. Det känns inte på något sätt exklusivt nog att motivera de höga priserna. Palau som stad är jättetrist. Det finns 3 hyggliga restauranger och absolut ingen shopping. Det första vi gjorde var att boka överfart till Maddalena, och vi ångrar verkligen att vi inte bodde där istället. Skippa Palau och åk till Maddalena eller Santa Teresa di Gallura istället. Vill du till Costa Smeralda ska du verkligen inte till Palau. Ferrarin på bilderna måste vara inhyrd för i denna stad finns inget exklusivt alls. Observera att parkering kostar 12€/natt. Btw, frukosten var kanon!

Very good service, the staff is very helpful. Cosy cafe close to the harbour of Palau and the possibilty to explore the La Maddalena archipelago.

Centralt och bra läge, nära till allt!
Bra service och hjälp vid frågor om utflyktsmål och bra stränder. Nära till alla båtar ut till La Maddalena och dess arkipelag som är ett måste för alla som har vägarna förbi Palau.

La Vecchia Fonte
Hotelet ligger på promenadavstånd till båtarna som går till Maddalenaöarna. Rummet var stort med fransk balkong och ett stort och modernt badrum. Både rum och badrum var mycket fräscha. Palau var en ganska tråkig stad men det var nära till Smeraldakusten med bil.

The room was beautiful with a great view of the marina. The jacuzzi tub was perfect after a long day of exploring the gorgeous coastlines and beaches. The location of the hotel made it very convenient to walk around to different shops and restaurants in the town. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly. We'd come back here in a heartbeat.

Bom hotel , péssimo café da manhã
O hotel é confortável , pegamos uma suíte com sacada de frente para o Porto , vista linda . O grande problema do hotel é o desjejum ! Péssimo ! Sem frutas , suco aguado , ar condicionado insuficiente , uma única máquina de café para atender dezenas de hóspedes ! Somente 2 atendentes batendo louças e talheres !Barulheira , super desagradável !! Por isso , nota do hotel é 6 para mim !!!

Caros hóspedes, estamos felizes por terem gostado do hotel e do quarto que vos foi atribuído. Lamentamos saber que o pequeno-almoço não correspondeu às vossas expectativas: a fruta é fornecida em doses individuais e é preparada todas as manhãs, enquanto a máquina de café está disponível no buffet precisamente para garantir a máxima liberdade para se servir como e quando quiser. Had a wonderful stay at the La vecchia Fonte. Roberto on front desk was very helpful Hotel is in a great location The only down side is the breakfast. It was very light with extremely poor choices. There was no fresh fruit but there was plenty of flies around.

We loved our stay here. Beautiful property, elegant, tasteful, nice staff. Generous, lovely rooms, crisp gorgeous sheets and the most comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom nicely done with soft towels. Lots of hot water, fairly roomy shower. French doors open to the garden and the nice little town. Church bells ringing. Very generous buffet breakfast with courteous, smiling staff. Great late lunch in the town. Took the La Maddalena Archipelago all day boat trip, a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Parking was easy, as well.

Parking was not the best. I had to run out and feed the meter. The market was noisy as were the neighbours. Hotel staff were excellent, especially Marco. Breakfast was basic and the room it was served in was not the best, but the breakfast staff were very nice. The shared balcony was not great for privacy reasons. The advertised water view was quite an exaggeration.

The hotel was clean and staff very accommodating. One premium room the AC was only a fan, so room was too hot. The breakfast was nice. The marina area lively with lots of restaurant choices.

Nice property- Terrible AC
Hotel is central location to the port and town. Nice breakfast and spacious modern rooms and baths. AC was a problem. In the room it would take several hours to get comfortable (22-23) however AC was on a timer and would turn off after 90 minutes, so if you left the room or were sleeping would wake up in hot sweat. Breakfast room AC did not work either.

Dear Mr Alfred,thanks a lot for you excellent score given. We are sorry to learn only now that the AC was not working perfectly. If you had informed us during the stay we would have had it checked immediately. However, there is no timer. The AC can stay on 24/24 h and only switches off when the windows are opened. In the breakfast room, on the other hand, there was never any malfunctioning of the AC. Thank you for your visit, see you soon. Kindest regards

Schönes Stadthotel mit Geschäften und Restaurants um die Ecke. Liegt am Hafen, daher viel Autoverkehr zur Abfahrt für Fähren. Hafenblixk heisst auch Blick auf Parkplatz. Ist inmitten des Geschehens, daher auch laut bis in dle Nacht. Sehr freundliches Personal.

The Location of the property is perfect for catching the Ferry early the next morning to go to the Maddalena islands . The hotel location is ideal for shopping and for the nightlife. Every night an outdoor market sets up in front of the hotel from 8 pm until 1 am . Its nice as you can walk around in front of your own hotel and its nice and lively at night. There is a huge parking lot to park your car in front of the hotel . The white lines parking is free and the blue lines you pay for parking . At night from 8 pm to 8 am the blue lines parking is free for overnight. Hotel staff is very helpful and polite and lent me an adapter for my blowdryer . Staff was helpful in suggestions for dinner etc. and were super friendly and very nice. Definitely recommend staying here . Location is perfect .

Außergewöhnlich freundliches Personal, sehr sauberes Hotel, das Frühstück ausreichend. Sehr zentral und zu Fuß alles erreichbar ist. Einziges minus, dass sie uns für eine Nacht die Garage verrechnet haben was wir nicht in Anspruch genommen haben. Wir haben mit dem Auto auf der Straße geparkt. Absolutes no go, Frechheit.

We stayed here for 2 nights while on our honeymoon. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel is located right in the port with lots of restaurants, bars, and shopping within walking distance. Good value for money for the area.

Palau is lovely
Well located hotel in Palau. Staff are extremely helpful with excursions and restaurant recommendations. Parking garage is very convenient as well.

Secondo me il servizio fornito non è da 4 stelle superior; mancano acqua di cortesia e macchinetta caffè/the in camera. Frigobar praticamente vuoto e non viene riempito. Colazione inadeguata, prodotti di scarsa qualità, pane surgelato e prodotti confezionati - macchinetta automatica per bevande calde!!

Ci preme, tuttavia, informare altri viaggiatori che, a differenza della camera Standard da Lei scelta, l'hotel dispone di camere Superior, dotate di bollitore per il the, come anche di Suite dotate di macchina Nespresso per il caffè. Tutti i frigobar offrono 2 tipi di acqua, 2 succhi, 2 bibite analcoliche, 2 birre e, se consumate, vengono rimpiazzate giornalmente. Circa la colazione, per la prima volta su Expedia, leggiamo di ospiti che giudicano il nostro buffet di scarsa qualità. Non prevediamo infatti nessun prodotto confezionato (forse ci ha confuso con un'altra struttura) ma prodotti di qualità assolutamente in linea con gli attesi standard alberghieri.Un cordiale saluto

Room was nothing special, and Tv was a little small. Needs better beds instead of two twins pushed together. Overall, it gets the job done if you are staying in town to go see Maddalena, it is right next to the harbor about 2 minute walk.
