Du får vad du betalar för
Vi valde budgetalternativet med det billigaste rummet och delad toalett. Vår första gång vi väljer ett sådant rum. Hotellet var sunkigt med en genomgående unken lukt i olika utföranden. Rummet hade ingen AC och var pyttelitet. Öppnade man fönstret stank det från alla ventilationsutlopp av flott och stekos. Luften stod still. Träd utanför med MÄNGDER skrikande fladdermöss som alla hördes mycket väl in till rummet natten igenom. Öppnade man dörren mot korridoren kom varm och syrefattig luft in i rummet så det blev man inte heller hjälpt av. Det var således ingen trevlig upplevelse men jag kan omöjligt ge hotellet en 1/5 för att vi visste vad vi gav oss in på. Vi bodde där för 300 SEK för en natt. Badrummen var i alla fall inte helt äckliga.

The Port Macquarie Hotel is a fantastic place to stay. Right in the midst of all the action & plenty of close by Shopping & Dining options. The interior has an old world charm about it & I love the fact that it is Mobility Friendly. There is a lift that takes you straight up to the Rooms & the Room I stayed in had its own bathroom that is easy to manoeuvre around in. The only small thing that I could fault ( if anything ) is that the rooms & certainly the bathroom could do with a fresh coat of paint. The Bed was extremely comfortable & so nicely made. The staff are really friendly, polite, helpful & made it a very enjoyable stay. The prices are really reasonable too I will DEFINITELY be staying again very soon.

The most awful venue I’ve stayed in ever. Cockroaches in the room, bathroom horrendous. Lights not working. Globes missing from lights.

Not quiet on Saturday night with a popular nightclub in the hotel but after 12:45 is calmed right down. Staff are great and try to work with what is there.

Nice, rather old, hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant in/attached to the hotel. Parking was impossible at the time we arrived (many restaurants/shops in the area) but we were able to move our car later in the evening.

This was a 'Grand' hotel when built nearly a century ago and still has much of the old-world charm. Its location is excellent, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, air conditioner worked quietly, there were no noise problems, sign-in and departure were seamless.

Stayed here for 2 nights, after booking we weren’t given very clear information on where reception was, the address wasn’t on the booking either. Was waiting at reception for 5 mins before having to find assistance. The room was ok, was dust all along the carpet near the walls and the bathroom has major mould damage. The parking wasn’t designated to guests as we couldn’t get a park the first day which was irritating, there’s a bottle shop next to the parking so customers were using the reserved parking, and the bins near the parking were full of seafood so you’d gag going to your car

Hotel Disappointing
I would not recommend this hotel. It’s ancient and in need of refurbishment - but the beds were clean and comfortable. Port Macquarie however is in itself a great place to stay

We did not have an enjoyable stay at all. No air conditioning as promised and paid for. Nothing done about it when informed. Ceiling fan sounded like it was going to fall out of the ceiling, so noisy and rattling the whole night. Dead cockroach stuck to the blanket that was sitting on the shelf. Very noisy property. Not only wouldn’t the worker match the “online” price of the room, when i said I would book online instead, he suddenly developed a bad attitude, told me “I should have told him the online price was cheaper” and then suddenly the online price increased?? The second person I dealt with was much nicer. Great location. Food was great. Bar staff friendly. Nice cold beer. We will never stay at this property again. I do not recommend!

Only stay there if you need a roof over your head.
Shithouse like. Unrepaired toilet , filled with toilet paper to be functional. Very dirty carpet from the 60s or earlier. Stay there only if you really need a roof over your head. There is nothing to recommend here , except the location.

The accommodation for the property needs an update badly. The rooms carpets felt very dirty i didn't want to walk in the room with no shoes on. there was paint coming off the walls in the room, the shower didn't look like it had been cleaned due to soap wrappers in the bottom of the shower. to end on a positive the staff were great friendly and helpful

Really let go unfortunately. No AC and fan only worked flat out. Holes in bed and in walls. Shower rails missing. Toilet disgusting. Mould on walls. Only reason it got three stars as the staff are so nice and they deserve more. The accomodation itself would be 2 stars and that’s being generous.
