The property did not have an elevator and we were on the top floors. The staff didn’t even offer to take our bags up to our rooms It was not clear on the website that bathrooms were shared and when the hotel is booked you have to wait to use the bathroom. The breakfast area was very narrow and crowded.

We loved this Inn! Our stay was at the beginning of May, so before peak season. If you are not able to walk up stairs, definitely let the staff know when you book. We were on the second floor and there are no elevators (which didn't bother us), but if you had a difficult time with stairs, make sure you stay on the first floor. If you book during peak season you may not be able to park in the small back lot, but there is more parking across the street, which the hotel staff explains to you when you get there. This is the case with all inns/hotels in Maine if you stay downtown so nothing unusual, but good to know if you're from out of town. My boyfriend and I had a shared bathroom, which was clean and directly across the hall from us. We only stayed a night before we traveled up the coast to Bar Harbor, but I would absolutely stay here again.

For a mid-town hotel it was surprisingly quiet. It was fairly convenient for access to the city. The staff were all very friendly. The king bed was very comfortable. Would definitely stay again when in Portland.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Staff was fruendly and helpful. Only minor problem was the shower...it was hard to find a balance between hot and cold water because the handle was very sensitive to movement.

The room was exactly what I needed for a decent night’s sleep. The parking is a little limited, but other than that, the hotel is a quaint spot for anyone who needs an affordable room in Portland.

I’ve stayed at the Inn several times now for events in Portland and I love it! It’s super affordable, especially compared to other overnight accommodations in the area, and it’s always super clean. Beds are comfy, and the staff are kind.

The building is 120 years old and is very charming. There are only a few room on the main level, most being up multiple flights of stairs. The stairs are very steep and narrow, of course there is no elevator. Be prepared, it was a challenge to get you luggage to your room and you should hope you don’t get on the C Floor!

The service was excellent-even the Lyft driver said “ really nice people work there. you’ll really enjoy it. “ The hotel is really beautiful and charming. The Victorian decor was very well restored, and Everything was pristine. The maze of stairways was fascinating. I definitely will be staying there again when I’m in town.

Check in staff were very courteous and welcoming, cookies and coffee/tea in evening were a nice touch. No breakfast person available if you have to leave early to go. Couple placed next to me, you could hear speaking/talking in your room/through the walls. Maybe offer quiet time or not put couples next to singles when there is space available-great Thai place and wine/appetizers offered within walking distance

We liked that it was a historical inn. We'd rather stay at places that aren't a "chain" if possible. Older places have history and it's nice to learn about it.
