I like some of the staff. Eliezer, Santo and Ruth were awesome. Good food and variety. The rooms could have been a little more updated, but for what we pay was fine. I didn't like that the water is salty. Find it a little weird. Overall was a good stay.

Very rude staff, poor facilities. Had cold water in the shower the whole time. Water on our floor from a leak. Reported it several times with nobody ever coming to check it out.

Amazing and helpful staff. Very few complaints in the eight days we stayed there. There was times we dealt with an odor by the pool, but it was not common and was easily avoidable.

The Staff was definitely unique. I wish I can remember everyone names, Felix, Ceasar Luis, Evelyn & Ernesto were amazing along with the rest of the Staff….. The only thing I didn’t like was the drinks!!!! A better Bar Service will get better reviews. “More ice less Pina Colada” , I wanted a frozen drink not a mix drink with ice cubes.

So outdated, the smell of sewage all over my room and hotel, sink and toilet overflowed, Next day I asked the front desk in morning to change my room, said come back 3 MAYBE will change it. The gym is couple of dumbbells and broken machine. The food is taste bad and poor quality Not worth a cent So expensive for so terrible hotel I DON’t recommend ever, stay away

I had booked the regular rooms..DO NOT DO THAT.. if you stay at this hotel make sure to book the superior room ONLY. The regular rooms are outdated and need work. The A/C was broken down, the lamps were rusty and the shower walls had mold. I was not going to allow that they had changed my room 3 times until they put me in the Supeiror room that is an updated room. Food was good enough. Entertaininment was cool. They need to put new sliding balcony doors on as you can hear everything outside. We heard the entertainment all night til 12 midnight very loud. The best thing is that its local to shops and dining and the beach. I would not stay at this place again though to many other all- inclusive options

Estuvimos por dos noche en este Hotel y eran dos habitación en la que yo estaba todo estaba bien pero el segundo día el aire dejo de funcionar, a mi familia la tuvieron que cambiar de habitación ya que la habitación olía muy mal, la movieron a otra habitación y en esta el inodoro estaba dañado el aire acondicionado estaba dañado solo dejaron una toalla no puedo decir que lo recomiendo a nadie serie irresponsabilidad de Mi parte

The staff and service were amazing!!! For the price I would have expected better installations inside the hotel, common areas are well kept, however, the rooms are very old and smelly, bring your cleaning tools and some sheets.

OMG!! My stay at Whalá was fantastic, cute family oriented and AFORDABLE hotel with the most approachable and happy personnel. The hotel and all areas were clean, a great variety of food and delicious, nice evening shows! Can’t wait to go back! One thing I’d like to add - bathrooms at least the one I stayed in could use an updgrade, other than that , FANTASTIC!!

The guest service was horrible. It took us over an hour to check in. The person at the front desk was very rude. The food was basic and tasteless. Not a good experience overall.

stay for 6 nights,have to change room 3 times for air conditioning problems. in year 2024 SALT WATER in showers and sink,they give you 2 watter botles that customers have to refill to wash your mouth. only one place to eat,and is the BUFFET,the other restaurant is outside the hotel and you pay for it. Food is the worse i ever see in my life. The beach is next to a public access to locals and like marine park for all the water activities,at sunchine hundred of Ilegal HAITI emigrant get in the beach and is not safe. and last but for me the worse,is the SMELL of SEWER WATER in the entire area around the hotel. I'm not recomend this hotel it was my very BAD experience,also i dont know how Expedia promote and sell this propiety. i forget to mention that you can spend 15 to 20 minutes in line to get a pair of eggs for breafast or a plate off spagettis at dinner.

Our room (#3215) was very outdated, but mainly the air conditioner was placed on an inner wall, going in to the bathroom, and the ceiling where the water condensation ran through, was drooping severely and leaked water drops on you when you were in the bathroom. Our shower water also was Salt Water? what is that, never felt clean. Food wasn't the best, all dominican mainly, but the flavoring wasn't great, but they tried. Staff was good but not many spoke English. Bar servers were good except on Woman, she was terrible at service. Maids did well on cleaning. But no Blankets in room, only sheets. Lots of Noise from outdoor activities in this particular room or ones nearby, with the pools outside, the kitchen outside it and the shows there also.

Overall we had a positive experience as we went there just for R&R. The property was very clean, nice pools, ideal location and food was delicious. The negatives were: limited bar options, no Diet Cola, gym cardio equipment did not work, the gym was in an allocated space with no doors and malfunctioning ceiling fans, beds and pillows were uncomfortable and towels were limited. They do not provide hand or wash towels. For 3 of us, they gave us 2 bath towels. Limited toiletries. Rooms are outdated but decent. The entertainment was subpar. You need to know you’ll be required to put $10usd down per beach towel you borrow. If you get a poolside view room, then you can watch the entertainment from your balcony but if you want to skip out on the show and get rest, forget it, you can’t because you’ll hear the shows loud and clear. We did enjoy the sit down dining restaurant for dinner but note it’s just the one menu.
