Stayed here with my boyfriend for 12 nights. What we liked most: View from pool and restaurant area is lovely. Staff is nice, the reception staff helped us a lot with recommendations on things to do and see. We liked the breakfast. What we liked less: There are no adults only areas and some days the pool turned into a childrens play pool and we had crying and screaming children in the restaurant, while other days were OK. Rooms are becoming somewhat timeworn and we found them too dark and not so pleasent, but I guess it depends on your taste. Gym area is very minimal and could be expanded with some more equipment. Overall when considering the price level of this hotel I found it to be okay but not great.

Avkoppling och vågor
Underbar strand. Fina rum. Vi hade pool utanför rummet, reste dock i dec så ganska regnigt och disigt vissa dagar. Perfekt ställe om man vill koppla av. Bil eller cykel är dock nästan ett måste, finns inte mycket runt omkring. God mat på hotellet men lite underbemannat, stökig frukost. Fin utsikt!

Secluded Design and Eco hotel
New contemporary design and eco hotel located a few kilometers outside Ribeira Grande along the coast. Quiet and a bit lonely by the sea just 100 meters from a large black sand beach with wild waves. Up at the hotel, there are plenty of places to sunbathe on around a nice swimming pool. The modern buildings, the restaurant and the rooms are nicely designed and it feels fresh and clean. The restaurant served good food, but the breakfast was unfortunately a little too simple. However a really good option for those who want it a little quiet in a secluded setting.

Nisch hotell
Bra hotell som ligger precis vid stranden, väldigt dramatisk vy vid frukosten över havet. Skön säng, härlig atmosfär på hotellet bra frukost och trevlig personal. Det negativa är att det känns mycket som att det är byggt som någons dröm men vissa saker har inte blivit helt anpassade för kunder, ex inte fullhög vägg mellan sovrum och toalett vilket gör att man blir lite för intim med varandra. Alla ljud hörs. Ingen skyltning från vägen så väldigt svårt att hitta i mörker när man kommer sent. Mellanrum i betongplattor på väggen till rummet vilket gör rullväska ganska hopplöst. PÅ det hela ett bra hotell men det finns lite saker att rätta till.

I can’t say enough good things about this beautiful property. The staff was phenomenal. The room (and upgrade) was immaculate, spacious and comfortable. The food was wonderful at every meal we had. You could not find a better spot to use as a base to explore the island.

Sehr ruhige Umgebung, Im Sommer sicherlich noch viel schöner. Anlage liegt am Strand, Pools stehen zur Verfügung. Über Weihnachten etwas kühl, ist aber bei Sonnenschein mit T-Shirt möglich. Ideales Wanderparadies. Auto ist von Vorteil. Gutes Frühstück, kein Buffet.

My fiancé and I had one of our best vacations to date. The villa we had was beautiful and our view was one of the best to wake up to every morning. Our staff was very accommodating with local recommendations for food, travel and ways to move around the island. We were given a cell phone to communicate with the front desk each and every question we had a they were very responsive. We will 100 percent be back.

Ines Silva went above and beyond for us during our stay. Five star employee. Dining staff seems unhappy and non engaging. The rooms are dark and drab. Rooms / outside of buildings are in need of a renovation badly. We stayed at Senhora da Rosa prior to staying here and got spoiled. Ines saved the ratings. Thank you again for all you helped us with.

A beautiful eco resort. I loved going into the sea (plenty of lifeguards around), the resort is accessible to wonderful restaurants (including their own) and attractions. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.

Amazing staff!
This is the place to go to relax and enjoy the beautiful peaceful island. The staff is exceptional and will help you with taxi arrangements and also suggestions. The bed and bath was perfect! They also packed a breakfast to go box because we left early. Thank you to Vitor, Inez, Nuno and everyone else! Loved your professionalism.

Nice hotel but not really “value for money”.
The hotel is nice in a beautiful location close to the beach, rooms are nice but quite simple interior and not really up to date. It is still a quite expensive hotel but doesn’t really live up to the standard.

So relaxing and such a magical place! Loved our stay there. The only thing that I think really needed to be changed is that you have to make a reservation to use the exercise facility, and only one person or family can use it at one time. That was very inconvenient.

Highly Recommend
Great experience at this Resort. Staff went above and beyond to provide us with everything we needed. Ideal couples resort to reconnect and spend QT. My only recommendation would be to invest in the pools (Main & swim-out rooms) being heated to make this place an all year-round location.

I had a room that looked out on the lap pool and it was marvelous to be able to go out my patio door and get in that water. The larger pool is gorgeous and looks out over the ocean. The front staff were great and so helpful. I truly loved this resort and will be back.

Comfy beds with stunning views
The hotel was lovely and had a good design and flow. Breakfast was good. Rooms were of high quality including a kitchenette. Loved the pool at the end of the terrace. Gym also was useable with limited equipment, but the right equipment which was great. For me the maintenance needs to be looked at. Things work, but decor needs to be replaced/updated.

Don’t question it…just book a stay here! Trust me!
This was probably one of the best resorts I’ve stayed in. The views were spectacular! The rooms were unique and cozy. The service from the staff was excellent. The food was delicious and unique. The property was secluded and quiet. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. It was perfect and exactly what I was looking for —relaxation and rejuvenation!!! I highly recommend!

Super séjour
Séjour fantastique. Tout était parfait et le personnel est incroyablement gentil, souriant et prévenant. Les repas du petit déjeuner au dîner en passant par le “all day menu” très qualitatifs et bons, majoritairement cuisinés avec les légumes du jardin de l’hôtel (des recettes parfois surprenantes mais qui valent le coup, notamment le jus du jour du petit déjeuner). Service à table ou room service (sans extra) impeccable. Piscine et vue imprenable. Cadre privilégié. Les logements sont bien pensés (villa jardin) pour limiter les nuisances. C’était notre lune de miel mais c’est aussi un endroit parfait pour les familles. Merci à Tiago et Francesca pour le super accueil qui a donné le ton au séjour complet.

Santa Barbara Eco Resort is a gorgeous property with beautiful infinity pools and amazing views of the ocean. The fine cuisine is delicious and they source most of their fruits and vegetables from their onsite gardens. The beach was the widest and most secluded that we saw during our 1 week trip to the Azores. It is public and accessible by walking down stairs from the resort. Our room was clean and having a pool right outside our door was really fun and relaxing. The service at the restaurant and bar, as well as the concierge and reception was excellent-- the staff were very kind, resourceful, generous and fun. We really hope to go back to Santa Barbara Eco Resort.

We had an incredible experience staying here, almost everything was great. One of the perks of this place is that it gives an unforgettable opportunity to relax and enjoy a stunning nature around this gorgeous area. The overall experience with the ocean and the views is simply one in a lifetime! As for what could be done better - certainly check in wasn't the smoothest, we were actually waiting for front desk to notice us when we entered the main entrance until we came to the desk and introduced ourselves (we were very tired and were waiting for nice and easy welcome), other than that staff at the restaurant was mostly providing good service, however some of the staff were a bit out of touch and pretty slow during breakfast and sometimes lunches/dinners (sometimes we had to stand up and walk up to ask for service as we were forgotten about). We had to also sometimes ask for housekeeping to clean up our room, as it was taking time up to early evening hours to realise we weren't getting any. Our room with pool side was great, but a bit dark. Massages were actually not perfect, but pleasing - we felt that it didn't worth the price paid. As a last note, we'd like to thank Maria and Katarina for their splendid service and attention! Overall, it was very worth visiting this gem of a place, despite some minor disappointments.
