Trivsamt BB centralt nära Metron
Vi kom tidigt från en kryssning i Medelhavet, och trots att incheckningen egentligen var från kl 14 möttes vi av ägaren när vi anlände kl 10. Han erbjöd sig att ordna med taxi till flyget kl 5 dagen efter. Dagen innan fick vi ett välkomstmail, så vi kom i kontakt med hotellet på ett enkelt sätt.

Der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Zimmer waren gut eingerichtet. Frühstück war auch gut und auf Wünsche wurde eingegangen.

Good host, still not recommending
The host was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was nothing to really brag about. We found out that the breakfast started at 08 am every day, which for us was too late given our plans. The bed was very hard/stiff, and was not comfortable to sleep on. My boyfriend even came home with some backpain due to the bed. I got rashes the second day in Rome, which only increased during the stay. It seemed to me that this might have been caused by bedbugs because the rashes all went away after my visit here. So I would not recommend this place even though it's cheap..

Dear Anonmous,1) This is not a hotel but a b&b. I have my own life and I cannot wake up at 4 a.m. because of your plans. I already wake up at 5.30 a.m. to be ready at 8 a.m.2) Few times I got the comment that beds are too soft, not too hard. Given that I have some additional soft over mattrass you could have spoken.3) It is better for me to avoid comments, I could be disrespectful

The property is in a great location. It is in walking distance to stores, restaurants, ATMs, etc. and is in a very safe neighborhood. The owner is extremely nice and helped me more than once with some problems I had. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this property.

Einfaches Bed & Breakfast in guter Lage für eine Städtetrip nach Rom. U-Bahn in der Nähe, Fußmarsch zum Colosseum / Forum Romanum in 20 Min., Supermarkt und Restaurants in der Umgebung. Umgebautes Privathaus, nur wenige Zimmer, die Betreiber sind sehr bemüht. Waren 4 Nächte dort und hatten das Studio mit Dachterasse und kleiner Küchenzeile.

Besatzung sehr nett und hilfsbereit. In Umgebung gibt's Restaurants, Snackbar, Cafeteria. Wenn man Lust hat locker zu Fuß ins Coloseum oder sogar weiter laufen kann . Frühstück in Garten war sehr guter Tag Anfang. :)

Had a lovely stay here recently. Is in a nice quiet location, close to a supermarket and San Giovanni metro. Owner (Vincenzo) is very friendly and accommodating and provided a lovely breakfast every morning. He provided a map of the area and directions to all the main sites. Room was a studio with a little kitchen area and was perfect. Weather was warm but air con kept the room comfortable. Vincenzo also organised a taxi to take us back to the airport. It was more expensive than a cab from Termini but we didn’t mind paying the extra so we didn’t have to cart our luggage on the metro. Would stay again and was a great base to explore Rome. Thank you Vincenzo!

La struttura è accogliente, col verde intorno, vicino ai mezzi pubblici, ma in un posto defilato dal traffico. Conviene prenotare il posto auto, che effettivamente è da concordare negli spostamenti con gli altri ospiti, ma ciò è possibile. Gentile il gestore, disponibile a dare le indicazioni necessarie. Qualche problema con l'acqua, dovuto forse anche a poca pressione in rete. Forse una manutenzione maggiore alla rubinetteria aiuterebbe. Nella sala della colazione, se piove o comunque c'è assembramento tra gli ospiti, non tutti trovano posto intorno al tavolo. Comunque, migliorati questi inconvenienti, ritornerei.

La ringrazio per le osservazioni. Per l'acqua è solo una problema di pressione di rete visto che il problema riguarda tutte le stanze e pure la mia abitazione. Per quanto riguarda gli spazi, in una abitazione privata non vi è molto di più che si possa fare.

If you are a seasoned traveler you will love this place. It is a real neighborhood and the owner of this place can give you amazing recommendations for both the center and local places (maybe one of best gelatarias I’ve ever been to is down the road). The walk to the Colloseo is not bad, there is a pretty park with a playground on way, and seriously you should go to the Terme Caracalla(sp?): it is an amazing, beautiful place whether you a history buff or not! Also by the closest metro San Giovanni there is a fast food place selling all different flavors of arancini—for a vegetarian who has family in Sicily, this was heavenly! We were lucky in that there was a little street festival going on while we were there, lots of local pride on display, super cute. And don’t be scared of the metro: i usually am because I used to live in London and it is daunting and $$— but here it cost 1.50 and the machines are in English too.

lovely little B&B, food was enough to start a day of sight seeing, room was comfortable and clean. Owners were spot on, happy to help but kept there distance otherwise. would recommend and would stay here again.

Amazing experience! Beautiful house and very attentive owners. They provided us with a map and outlined all of the places we should visit in Rome both well known and for a unique experience. Great location, a few stops on the metro from central Rome. Would definitely stay here again.

One of the loveliest places to stay in Rome
Being a regular traveler, I pay very serious attention to housing problems. And even more picky I am when I decide to stay somewhere for a long time. That is why when planning this 20-day trip to Rome/Italy I decided to book lodging in advance, when the choice was thorough enough. The previous time in Rome my wife and I stayed in the very central part of the city, on Piazza Venezia, in a high-ranked hotel. And we could appreciate at its true value living close to all the main attractions. But we could not afford staying for three weeks in such a pricy hotel during high tourist season. Besides, most center-based hotels in Rome have very cramped rooms with tiny showers, leaving bruises on your elbows each time. Absence of kitchen and even comfortable place to eat in is also a problem. That is why the choice fell on St. John Villa. And it was a wonderful choice! Cozy apartment with plenty of space, private bath, balcony, full-size kitchen, place to eat in (in addition to spacy shared breakfast room with beautiful citrus plant garden) was situated in rather uncommon for Rome quiet environment. (By the way, own kitchen is of great importance in the country, where most of the restaurants close for siesta at the time when the rest of the world prefers to have dinner and re-open at the time when serious tourists are preparing for bed.) In addition, proximity to the most interesting attractions and communications was very useful.

Charmante B&B in rustige straat.
Wij hadden de bovenste verdieping met dakterras. Een superplek, heerlijk rustig. Enige minpunt is dat de bedden maar 190 cm lang zijn. Airco is aanwezig. Er wordt iedere dag schoongemaakt. Handdoeken worden ruim gegeven. deze worden om de dag verschoond. Ontbijt is op z'n Italiaans, d.w.z. heel veel zoetigheid. Het is wel heerlijk dat het ook in de tuin kan worden gebruikt. Deze B&B licht in een rustige straat. Op loopafstand zijn vele leuke restaurantjes waar je heerlijk en goedkoop kan eten. Zeker een aanrader!

Nice and quaint, clean. Ideal for couples.
As a single women travelling alone i found this hotel a bit off the beaten path. I felt nervous walking back to hotel at night as it was not on a major route. I did not find the owner very helpful when i asked if there was an easier route to find the hotel. The fact that i could not get a cab at all did not help the situation. However if I was with a companion this would not have been an issue. Ideal for couples. It was very clean, and decorated with taste.

Back at the St. John Villa in San Giovanni, Rome
My wife and I have stayed at the St. John Villa B&B several times in the past few years. Our Host Vincenzo is always there when needed - Nothing is too trouble for him - he's always ready ready to help at any time. We prefer to stay at the Studio or Apartment because of the private balconies. The Terrace on the top floor is a great to relax with a glass of wine. The B&B is in a residential area not far from buses and metro. Great little restaurants nearby. Grazie Vincenzo - Always a pleasure.

A very nice place to stay and come home for 2 weeks the owners were very helpful in orienting us to the city not fancy but very clean and welcoming.

Angenehme Villa für Individualisten
Die Villa St.John liegt nur etwa 5 Gehminuten von der Metrostation St. Giovanni in einer ruhigen Gegend.Vor allem die antiken Stätten (Caracalla Thermen, Kolloseum, Forum Romanum, Circus Maximus etc.) kann man in ca. 15-20 Minuten alle gut zu Fuß erreichen. Zum Roma Termini sind es mit der Metro 10 und zum Petersplatz ca. 20 min. Mein Zimmer war schön, und geräumig, kein unnötiger Schnick-Schnack, ebenso das Bad, das große Bett äußerst bequem. Man kann sich jederzeit im Zimmer einen Kaffee oder Tee zubereiten (Wasserkocher und Kaffee/Tee am Zimmer), was ich sehr zu schätzen wusste, da ich zur Frühstückszeit schon längst außer Haus war. Der Hausherr ist sehr bemüht und die Athmosphäre angenehm privat. Ich würde jederzeit wieder hierher kommen und kann das Haus nur weiterempfehlen. Das Haus ist nichts für Hordentiere, eher etwas für Individualisten. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist sehr gut.

Rundum gelungener Rom-Aufenthalt
Die St. Jons Villa ist eine kleine, gemütliche Pension, direkt an Rom's City gelegen. Die Metro-Station San Giovanni ist bequem zu Fuß in 6 Minuten zu erreichen. Unser Zimmer war großzügig ausgestattet mit Bad und Küche, so dass man auch selbst sein Essen zubereiten könnte. Außerdem gibt es ein Vielzahl von Restaurants, Bistros etc. in der unmittelbaren Umgebung. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alle geäußerten Wünsche wurden umgehend erfüllt. Also wir können die St. Johns Villa nur weiterempfehlen.

Fijn verblijf in prima b&b voor stedentrip Rome
Wij hadden een kamer met een 2 persoonsbed en nog een extra 1 persoonsbed. Ruime badkamer met douchecabine en föhn. Waterkoker en kopjes op de kamer en in het trappenhuis een grote koelkast voor algemeen gebruik met gratis flesjes water en een magnetron voor algemeen gebruik. Het ontbijt is prima maar overwegend zoet met goede verse koffie, thee of cappuccino. Het is een redelijk rustige buurt met op loopafstand een supermarkt, restaurantjes, de metrohalte en ook het colosseum.
