Very good budget hotel
A very good budget hotel located in the bar and resturant area. The staff is just amazing, so nice and helpful! Breakfast was more than expected for being included. The rooms are spaceous, clean and comfortable. The whole place is a bit run down and would do good with a bit of paint and fixing here and there but for the price it is a great value.

Keep in mind you’re just paying for the location, the hotel itself is disappointing for the price you pay. Bathroom - to start, THERE’S NO SINK, you need to do everything in the tiny kitchen/room, shower has no pressure, and there were stained and old towels. Wifi not stable, I couldn’t even watch netflix on my phone - TV sucks, old and terrible image Noisy, the room has window AC that is one feet from the bed and the curtains don’t cover the windows properly so it’s bright early morning Tiny room with no space to walk if you have one suitcase open, be ready to jump over your things if you want to walk around It could have been an honest mistake, but on Expedia it showed 40 dollars for parking and they charged us 50. After complaining they agreed on 40. Summarizing, old, outdated, noisy, tiny and extremely overpriced for what’s offered. Pros - good breakfast and gentle staff

It’s never a good sign when you check in and there are ear plugs for you in the room. As the least expensive hotel in downtown San Diego I should have been prepared but till… Very basic, no frills, but breakfast was okay.

I read allot of reviews about this property. Do not hesitate on booking here. The beds are not hard they were quite comfortable. The street noise was not that bad. Breakfast there was plenty. We were here for my grandson's graduation from The Marine's bootcamp. We were 13 miles to the base very easy to get to.

You get what you pay for. This place has an excellent location, but I found some of the desk staff shockingly rude. Very unusual experience for me.

easily accessible transportation to all sightseeing locations, airport and restaurants. However, the hotel is in Downtown area close to Broadway, so safety and cleanliness can be a concern for some people. The air conditioner in the room needs to be updated.

$50 dollars to park in the hotel parking lot per day… This isn’t disclosed on Expedia listing. Street parking is difficult to come by and are metered. Besides that staff were friendly and hotel was clean.

Wifi did not wor K and when we called the front desk, their reponse was just “uhm, try restarting your device.” We did this and it did not work. The shower in the room sprayed all over the floor. We got 1st floor room and it was horribly loud. Staff was NOT helpful. We were not told about extra security deposit and/or parking fees at booking or we would have booked at another location. Overall the room is not worth the 50 bucks savings at a better hotel. A complete miss.

The hotel is conveniently located in the Gaslamp district of San Diego. It is very close to everything: nightlife, the San Diego Zoo, and Balboa Park. But it’s far away from the activities and the noise. The bed is comfortable, and the breakfast is good. Stuff is attentive and gracious. We would stay here again.

Cheap for the area, expensive for the experience. Very loud street noise on the first floor, maybe better higher up it's ok. The room & breakfast was fine, what you expect from a budget hotel.

After reading some of the reviews, I was a little worried. But from the moment we arrived , until we left-and we booked an extra night- we had nothing but GREAT service and all smiles. Yeah, there are some homeless folks outside that you need to be aware of, but snide all was good. And the breakfast was great with hot and cold choices. The woman keeping everything clean and filled was a sweetheart.

They should call this place the Discomfort Inn. I will never stay here again. There was a rude staff member on duty when we arrived. The room was advertised on Expedia as having a rollaway bed option. I called ahead and a lady said yes of course there would be one for you. I arrived and the guy at the front desk tersely said “well u can have one only if we have one”. I said I called ahead and was assured there would be one. He repeated the same phrase. He comes back five minutes later and says they have one and it will be delivered to my room. I get to my room and there’s an inflatable mattress leaned up against the bed, no sheets, no pillows, nothing. I’m like you gotta be kidding me. So I go downstairs, and the same rude staff says oh you need sheets? I said yes, I need sheets, a pillow, a comforter, or blanket. And why on earth am I getting an inflatable mattress to sleep on the floor? He said the rooms are too small for rollaway beds so they didn’t have any. Total BS. He brought one set of sheets out and said they did not have any comforters or blankets. I asked for a second set of sheets which he went back and got. Eventually, much later that evening, a different and nicer staffer stripped off a bed of an unoccupied room, and gave me a blanket. Then at 7 AM housekeeping woke us up and offered to give me a pillow. Unbelievable. It was noisy both nights too with car alarms, vehicles beeping like they’re construction vehicles. Do yourself a favor. Don’t stay at this place.

Left disappointed with a dirty room for the whole stay. Upon check-in, you are told the room cleaning service is every other day. On my 3-night stay my room was not cleaned once. On the day they were supposed to clean it, I went in the morning to the front desk to confirm because the room was dirty, and needed the trash to be taken out. The employee said, "I have you scheduled for today". My room was not cleaned. Had to sleep in a very dirty room without clean towels. The next morning I informed the staff, and unfortunately, no other remediation was offered other than "sorry". That is disappointing. On the other hand: Friendly staff. It is a good location, within walking distance of many delicious restaurants. Parking right behind the building.
