Spring Break getaway
My family and I decided to go to San Diego for spring break. I booked this place based on reviews of location and we could not be happier. This was just steps away from the beach. My wife and I shared the main bed in bedroom 1 and my 2 kids had their own bed in 2nd bedroom. The couch could have been another option if needed. It was upstairs so we left windows open at night to get some of the ocean breeze and sat outside on the patio to enjoy the weather. Overall we will definitely book this location again in future.

The place was nice and comfortable and clean. Parking was a bit tight, we aren't used to such close parking but not bad. There was enough room for all of us. 6 people. The patio was cute.

House is located steps from beach and 8 miles from base was quick drive for family day and graduation. Lots of shops for food around corner and a Starbucks across street. Rooms are spacious It’s upstairs of a 3 plex with a private covered balcony so was a tad confusing at first Awesome to have garage to park in though huge saver

DO NOT BOOK - UNINHABITABLE
Simply put, the worst VRBO I’ve ever stayed in - an absolute dump. Upon check in, discovered rodent feces on top of the bed sheets. Attempted to contact host, but immediately redirected to Vacasa, the property manger. Vacasa was an automated response or outsourced, promising to have “the local team” contact me asap. Cleaned up feces, attempted to take a shower only to discover no hot water and black mold in the shower. Again contacted Vacasa, only to receive absolutely no response. No hot water for three days, and when leaving ran into the plumber sent to change out the hot water heater who stated based on the leak in the bottom it had been out for many days. Bottom line, this VRBO is unsafe and uninhabitable. It’s in violation of numerous City of San Diego life safety codes and should have it’s short term rental license revoked. DO NOT book, and I’d recommend avoiding all properties managed by Vacasa.

Poorly maintained & omissions in listing, good location
I should have trusted the multiple warnings in prior reviews. Here are my noticings. --The front door was very sticky to open and shut. Needs maintenence. --The carbon monoxide detector had low batteries and the management asked me to push a temporary silence button instead of offering to replace the batteries. Unsafe. --There was black mold on the shower window ledge. Unsightly and unsafe. --The bathroom towel rack and exhaust fan are still broken as prior reviewers noted. The paint is still peeling. Unmaintained. --The ceiling fan light in the back bedroom randomly turned on multiple times a night and woke up the people sleeping in the room. Uncomfortable. --The dishwasher would not dispense the detergent from the main detergent container. We had to wash dishes by hand. Bothersome. --The outdoor patio and grill are shared by three rental units. This makes it challenging to plan your meal times. Unclearly listed. --The hot water runs out after two average length showers. Plan your personal hygiene schedules accordingly. --The shared washer and dryer are on the left side of the garage and the other renter parked a long SUV in their side so we couldn't access the washer and dryer while they were parked in the garage. Inconvenient. --Overall this is akin to a worn out 1 star motel with an added kitchen, dining table, and living room. --Great location close to the beach! Loud till the neighbors quiet down late at night.

Perfect Location
We enjoyed our stay at this rental. The home is older and there are parts that could use a total remodel (the bathroom) however, we had everything in the home we needed for our 5 night stay. The home was very clean when we arrived. The kitchen had the basics we needed. There were plenty of bath and beach towels. The beds were comfortable. The garage has beach umbrellas, beach toys, chairs and body boards for guests to use. The location is fabulous! Just a short walk to a park with a great play area, the beach, Belmont Park, Plunge, shopping and food. Grocery stores are a short 10 minute drive. We would definitely stay here again.

Outdated/Dangerous
This house is in an amazing location but fell way short in its amenities and comfort. The upper deck is riddled with holes in the decking causing a possible trip/fall hazard. Front metal security door is completely rusted. Broken towel racks, constantly running toilet that also was leaking at the base. During our stay it began to rain and the roof was leaking in four different areas. Water was dripping on the couch and we were unable to sit in that area. Maintenance arrived and dropped off two very large bins to collect the water, taking up more space in an already cramped area. Also, had to stand on the bed to turn on the light in the main bedroom as there was no switch on the wall. Overall, not very impressed for the price.

We had VRBO homes that were better furnished
When we tried to plug in the electric heater the circut for our whole house blew. So we had to do with only the big electric heater in the living room. We were cold inside and had to wear coats. There was on "Book of instructions" as we are used to in VRBO houses so we had no information on Trash days, and which can's we were to put our trash in. The roof leaked on the leather couch and in the window in the kitchen. There wasn't a sharp knife in the house and the only measuring cup was a 1/3 cup measure. It would be handy to have a 1cup measurer. Also there was no lids for the sauce pans. The TV in the twin bed room didn't work but that didn't bother us. It might bother some people. The beds were very comfortable. Thank you

The location of the property right next to the beach along with the available parking cannot be beat! The house itself is basic and lacked many basic features. The bathroom fan does not work, the toilet runs after flushing, the kitchen lacks many items to make it comfortable for cooking. The upstairs deck is shared with another unit which was a surprise, it does provide a few of the ocean which as highly sought after. If you are looking for nothing fancy and want to be close to the ocean this is the place to rent, if you are not tolerant of noise and busy activity, (pedestrian walkway in front of house) then do not rent this place. Trash trucks come by each morning at 7:00 and are very loud. Loved the place although we will not stay there again.

It was perfect for us!
It was just great! What we expected and even a little more, awesome grill, great location, secure garage, the surrounding people renting were friendly (active and social like us as should be expected for that area), extra blankets (we got bad weather that week of all things), and we read reviews prior to arriving to bring coffee pods because keurig but short supply of coffee. I like to cook, so I brought my own salt, pepper, and spices. Thank you, it was a great place, I like that it’s older cabinets and such, and I plan to rent there again!

The description on line is accurate. Only items listed are in the house. We were surprised by the lack of K-cup coffee at least enough for 1 morning. We brought coffee, not K-cups. No basics, salt and pepper? No “ welcome book” no suggestions on stores, dining,etc. Great location! for beach goers.

First of all, this is Not a bungalow. This is a second floor apartment with shared outdoor spaces. The street was not marked so I had to go around the block a couple times. It was nice to have a garage spot - the code worked easily. The gate latch Is rusty just like another review mentioned. The directions spoke of a lock box code- after several frustrating attempts of trying the code on the box, I checked the door where there was another lock where the code worked. The door has something brown spattered on it…. The good: I liked the vintage feel and appreciated the wood beam ceilings, cabinets and enclosed porch which was very cute with slanted windows. The couch was comfortable, the place was clean. It was 50 yards from the beach. The not so good (for me) Of the many rentals I have stayed at this was only one of two that offered no coffee or tea or little welcome basket. Nada. The decor was minimal and dated - this was not a showplace😉 No rugs just cold tile floor. I get it though - strange peeps are coming thru. I stayed here alone and first tried the second bedroom but the one bed was deeply uncomfortable. I ended up in the master/king. No place to put your suitcase or the extra bed pillows except the floor. The ad states a queen and a double I think? They were the same size and not queens from my perspective? I can’t comprehend 6 adults staying here. One of the dressers was missing a knob (found in the dresser) and a light was out in the bathroom. I am 5”11 and had to crouch to wash my hair under the low shower head. The neighbors downstairs were somewhat noisy until about 11pm. It is located about a block from an amusement park - if you have kids this might be perfect. I thought this was expensive and with the bare bones overall lack of charm, I would not stay here again.

The location is fantastic. The property is very bare bones. A few inexpensive additions/changes would make it much better. There should be pictures of the garage parking, at night it was difficult to locate. The gate has rusty hardware, that’s a cheap fix. The door code was not correct. There are actually 2 doors- a storm door and a main door- the different doors have different codes and we were not given both. The house wasn’t very well cleaned. The silverware and plates all seemed somewhat gross- when we went to run the dishwasher we found the unused tab in the pocket- maybe the dishes weren’t washed and put away?? There are no hangers to hang anything up. The light switches don’t all work. We needed a can opener and there wasn’t one. The beds had a thin sheet and a motel type comforter- it would have been nice to have more blankets and better quality blankets. The patio furniture outside was all rusted. It is an amazing location, but the comfort level and interior could use some improving. We use vrbo pretty frequently and this was, by far, our least comfortable stay.

The property compared to other we have rented was lacking in amenities. No beach chairs, did not say in description that we shared the front porch with others so nowhere for us outside, no extra fans and it was extremely hot. Many of the plugs didn’t work and had to manually turn on main room TV and could not control volume. Location was great but was really noisy up until 11pm. Loved having garage for car! Not fancy but adequate for beach living.

Family Getaway
Great location! If you are looking to be right next to the beach at an affordable price this is it. But don’t plan on cooking big meals or spend extended time at the house. Kitchen is extremely limited, minimal utensils to cook with (no spatula, no whisk, no dish towels or pot holders). One day was too cold and rainy to do much outside. Unfortunately the house has no board games or even a deck of cards. Also was cold at night and thermostat does not work.

Amazing location!
The location for the price was great!!! There were a few things, like not very clean, wifi issues, lack of toilet paper for 4 people and 5 days, same with shampoo. But the location was great and enjoyed the outside seating!

Great location
This property is in a great location. Everything we wanted to do was nearby and convenient. The beds in the second room need new mattresses, and the place is pretty outdated, but we expected that since this was a budget price. There was construction across the street, but overall, this was a fairly comfortable place.

Nice vacation spot with some broken items
There were several broken items in the house; the umbrella on the deck was broken, as was a couple of the drawers in the storage area. The tv was complicated to figure out and required a phone call to get it working. The house was clean but was was in desperate need of new mattresses for the whole house. There was rust and broken drawers in the master room. If you are looking for an amazing location with quick access to the beach and you aren’t going to spend a lot of time in the house itself then this will be perfect. I disliked the closeness to the other neighbors as we shared a deck. We were lacking several items we would have liked in the kitchen. Overall if was fine. But I would have liked to see newer interior for the price we paid. But I guess what you are paying for is the proximity to the beach.

Not What We Expected
The location was perfect. Just steps from the beach. The home was clean, but old and shabby. The pillows were very thin and no blankets for guests 5 and 6. Towels were thin. The only cleaning supplies were garbage bags and Palmolive. We had to borrow a can opener from the family below. Hardly any amenities. The dishwasher runs water but does not dispense the soap. Glad we didn’t eat in much. The garage is tiny and the car we rented didn’t fit in. It was a good thing since the garage door never opened for us. We had to find parking elsewhere. When we went to do laundry the owners brother had decided to pop over and do his, he wasn’t staying in the units. Not at all what we expected. But the location was great!

We had a great view of the ocean and boardwalk from the upper patio. The rental is large and spacious. Garage is great too. We didn't have internet or cable tv and by the third day the actual owner dropped by and took care of everything. Then we did get a slight discount.

Almost beach
We aware 4 houses and an alley away from beach. Beds are hard and the cleanliness was poor. Kitchen dishes especially small glass and cookware sparse. This place is in dire need of updating. Electric lights and plugs not fully functional and a few wires just hanging from walls. Location great though and cost if all the fees didn’t double $$ it would be reasonable.

Perfect distance to beach!
Location was perfect - so close to beach, which is what we wanted. It could use an overall deep cleaning - dust curling over ceiling ledge in living room and ceiling fans. Also, sun room could use some attention - there may be a leak in the roof over futon. But, 5 stars because we spent most of our time at beach which was sooo close.

Read all the reviews!!! -NO AC -couldn’t fit our Minivan (not easy, huge dip as you enter garage door, space to get in to the garage is SMALL!) -garage door code is incorrect on listing -bathroom vent doesn’t work -no enternece to the unit from garage -only 1 box fan provided for unit with no AC, ceiling fans were not effective. - great location - enough towels and also provided beach towels -walking distance to Belmont Park (literally like 1-2 blocks) - location was everything!!! We enjoyed our stay and made the best of it!

We had a great time staying here. The place had what we needed. It is dated, but comfortable for the family who can run to the beach in their bare feet. The most difficult thing was finding overnight parking for our second car.

The proximity to the beach was great, however, the proximity of other guests was too close for our comfort. There are 3 vacation rentals in the same unit. If you want a "get away", this probably isn't a good fit. Parking is an absolute nightmare. They advertise accommodations for 7, but only one parking spot. All other potential parking is blocks away (unless you get really lucky and find on street parking, but this is a very popular area and those are hard to come by). The parking that's blocks away have ridiculous rules, like "no parking from 3-4am"...one hour in the middle of the night. Its a tow company's cash cow! The TV in the master didn't work. The garage door code didn't work, but the manager Ana, was prompt and pleasant in telling me how to get in using the other side of the garage. There is no access from the garage to the house. The outdoor grills are rusted and didn't work. We tried both the top and bottom floor grills. Grilling hot dogs and hamburgers on a skillet inside was a mess and very time consuming. The overall condition is run down and dated.

Beach Wonderland
The condo is older in a charming mid century community. It was clean and the manager was so helpful with every aspect. We were there in winter so no swimming in the ocean. But we could watch crazy surfers from the patio with our morning coffee. LOL! Super close to Sea World and walking distance to Belmont Park with fun beach shopping and many restaurants close by as well. It is casual on the boardwalk which really is just 60 steps from the condo! Awesome experience! BIG PLUS: it comes with a parking space inside a locked garage.

Great Trip
We recently stayed at the bungalow. It has a great location, basic amenities and was a great value. I would stay here again.

Lacked attention to detail
Positive: close to beach and amusement center Lack of detail: fans would not turn off, light switches didn't turn things on or off, leak in the master bedroom roof on to master bed, had to request for propane when checked in, all outdoor spaces are shared with two other parts of the house there is no private outdoor space, washer and dryer are coin operated.

We appreciate your feedback, Jody. Our local operations manager has ensured that all switches at this property are working properly, and the leak was fixed the day after it was reported.

Not up to expectations
We knew it was not on beach... but for the money, we expected it to be cleaner and more like photo...

We appreciate this guests feedback. Our homes are regularly cleaned before and after each stay. We wish this guest would have contacted us with any specific areas of concern as we would have been happy to address. We hope to be able to host this guest again soon!
