"An exquisite stay"!
Hej, just back from a fantastic holiday at Emerald Resort in Zanzibar. The hotel was "exquisite" with beautiful rooms with African wooden carved furniture, bubbles, fruit and chocolate up on arrival and every day spotless clean. But the best of all were your staff who everyone was so genuinely friendly. You were always greeted with a "jambo" or "I'll hope you're enjoying your stay and is there anything I can do for you?". You felt that they always "walked that extra mile". We'll definitely come back and next time hopefully with our sons and their families. Just a couple of "small tips" to the Hotel management: -a hand rail on the balcony to hang up wet clothes would be good.. - a cover sunshade over the children's play area, so they can also play when it's hot -an ATM at the hotel, especially for those days when local craftsmen were invited to the hotel (we didn´t bring much cash) - and a pram ramp at the outdoor stairs, as there are many families with children at the hotel So thanks again for making our stay so fantastic! Specially to you "Sea", that greeted us every day with a joke and a big smile 😊 Best regards Kim&Björn

Quality and food needs a Big improvment.
Very Nice resort and great clean rooms. Nice pool area aswell. Overall the staff are very friendly but bar staff need to improve their service and most of all wich is really to bad the quality of cocktails and food is of poor standard. Even when this is pointed out to the management nothing was Done.

The overall experience was great. The staff is friendly and responsive. I particularly liked the food served at Aqua, which is why I was disappointed at the food quality from Carnivorous. The food was served luke warm at best and the meats did not meet the standards one would expect from a reservations only establishment. Maybe you should take a cue from the food consumption and wastage on a night by night basis at Carnivorous.

This hotel is truly a 5* in Zanzibar. Free from insects and mosquitoes in the room unlike other hotels in Zanizbar. All inclusive and great for the price you pay. I booked the hot tub/jacuzzi room and was snot disappointed. Great staff.

とても素敵なホテルでした！！ まだ新しいホテルなので、設備は非常に新しく、とってもきれいでした。 スタッフの方々も総じてフレンドリーで笑顔で接してくださり、とても好印象でした。 基本はオールインクルーシブですが、一部別料金メニューもあるので要注意です。 朝食メニューも豊富で、ロケーションも素晴らしく、大満足でした！ また是非訪れたいホテルです。 ビーチやレストランの景観も非常に美しく、最高でした！ 唯一マイナス点を挙げるならば、夜にルームサービスの相談をし、スタッフが部屋まで来てくれることになったものの、待てども待てども誰も訪れて来るることはなかった点です。

Its a beautiful resort. The staff are truly wonderful, the food is lovely and there are plenty of options. The wings at asiatique are 10/10!. I wish I had taken all of my own toiletries, theirs aren't great. But the staff take this resort from great to amazing. A huge extra thank you to Ajay and Vishwas for making our holiday so special.

Everything is nice and well organized. Food and drinks are good, not wow (something very good, something else less....but it is a personal opinion). Beautiful beach. The room was nice and quiet. The staff is very kind and supportive. Structure a little far from everything, you must like the resort life. At the end it works for a great relaxing vacation. I would go back to it.

Overall... a wonderful resort
My overall experience was wonderful at this resort. Architectural gem. Location was perfect. Staff were friendly and professional. Plenty of excursions available for additional fees that were well worth it. Daycare on site. Entertainment was an added bonus. The food was delicious! My room was also beautiful. The consistent issue was having to call multiple days for our room to be cleaned. It was a small annoyance, especially since there were a few cockroaches in the room. I killed a couple. I'm aware there are things that cannot be helped. But I do wish we didn't need to call for housekeeping to show up. With this said. My stay at Emerald was very enjoyable.

Overall very clean and nice resort. Would be better if it were closer to stone town and some of the other main cities, it was an hour drive or more everywhere we went and rides were expensive. The resort was also extremely colonized, Iike there wasn’t a single African restaurant out of the 5 that were there. If you wanted to experience any African/Tanzanian culture you had to leave the resort. The staff is underpaid (which we learned through talking to some of the staff we befriended) so the workers relied heavily on tips (yet there was no atm on site?). The property was Arabic owned but all local, underpaid workers which kind of felt like modern day slavery :( the staff was extremely friendly but unfortunately dropped the ball a few times during our stay. For example, we booked a taxi through the front desk for an excursion we had in 2 days. The taxi never showed up and there was no record of a taxi being booked so we missed our excursion and had to reschedule. Also, I was there for my bday in which my bf planned a whole surprise day in which the staff was supposed to decorate our suite & bring a cake - they never did and my boyfriend had to complain 3 different times before they finally did but it was at 10pm when they came? We made 2 different requests with the house keepers for the mini fridge that were never fulfilled. Lastly, there was no gift shop/convenience store on site, so if you forgot toiletries or needed snacks or anything, you had to leave the resort (far drive

Kein 5 Sterne Hotel
Wir waren vom 28.08. bis 11.09.2023 im Emerald. Das Hotel ist super Angelegt Zimmer hervorragend. Poollandschaft auch sehr schön. Strand absolut top. Allerdings lässt der Service im Emerald sehr zu wünschen übrig. Morgen wartet man sehr of auf seinen Café oder Cappuccino mindestens 15 - 20 Minuten. Da hat man längst gefrühstückt. Dann fällt öfters der Strom aus, was ja nicht das Problem ist allerdings haben danach die Notfalllampen in unserem Zimmer 3 Nächte gebrannt, obwohl wir mehrmals an der Rezeption waren dies zu beanstanden. Unsere Zimmerkarte ging während des gesamten Aufenthalts mindesten 5-6 mal nicht und da nicht nur eine Karte sondern alle 3 Karten. Das Hotel ist erst knapp 1 Jahr alt und im Poolbereich lösen sich schon die Fliesen. Das Essen im Auqua Restaurant ist soweit ganz gut von der Auswahl her aber nicht so vielseitig. Immer diese Indischen und Afrikanischen Gerichte. Wir hatten diese magentechnisch von den Gewürzen her leider nicht so gut vertragen. Meine Tochter hat darauf auch einmal in der Nacht ca. 4 Stunden sich übergeben. Ansonsten finden wir das Preisleistungsverhältnis obwohl All-In etwas als 5 Sterne Hotel etwas zu hoch. Wir würden dem Hotel leider nur 4 Sterne anstatt 5 Sterne geben.

Das Hotel im Allgemeinen sehr schön und das Personal war SEHR SEHR GUT. Essen war sehr gut - nur nach 5 Tagen war das Menü immer gleich. Da könnte man mehr Ändernungen vornehmen - etwas mehr Vielfalt. Das einzige, warum ich auch dem Hotel 4 von 5 Sternen geben würde, ist der Strand. Es ist ein öffentlicher Strand - somit sind auch sehr viele Leute dort die natürlich nicht aufdringlich waren, aber immer wieder etwas verkaufen wollen. Ich dachte eher, dass das Hotel einen eigenen Strandzugang hat und man sich komplett ausruhen und entspannen kann.

It was brand new hotel, the rooms were beautiful and nicely decorated. The bed was good, restaurants were good, service was excellent. The garden was magnificent. Only thing where they really should focus is beach area cleaning. Not just around deckchairs -> real beach cleaning, to collect bottles, glass, other garbage away from the beach and teach also that to local boats crews and fisherman. So that beach area can stay nice and clean in future also.

WOW EMERALD ZANZIBAR Out of the many countries that I have traveled to, and several five star resorts that I have stayed at, I must honestly say that I’ve never experienced greater excellence in service than at Emerald Zanzibar. From the powdery, white sand beach, to the delicious restaurants, to the exceptional staff, who all go out of their way to cater to you, make conversation with you, and make you feel like the most important person in the world. The rooms are extremely spacious and clean, the grounds are full of beautiful gardens, there are multiple pools, multiple restaurants, and the value for the money is certainly there. I will absolutely be returning!!! Thank you Mohammed in reservations, Bahati on the service staff, Ajay in guest services, and the Nepalese executive chef whose name I can’t recall. Wow wow wow!!

This place had everything and more! The employees were very nice and accommodating. The food and drinks were so delicious and the atmosphere was so welcoming. I have travelled a lot around the world but I have never had such a superb time like this. This hotel is a must visit place if you go to Zanzibar.
