“All was wonderful except the non flexible check in. We had an event to get to and even though the host was on site for an hour prior to our check-in time they wouldn’t let us in until 1pm sharp which was when our event started. Otherwise a beautiful location with kangaroos visiting near our verandah. ”

“We unfortunately couldn't make it to stay, but the staff were happy for us to change the booking to our brother and his wife so that they could enjoy the wedding of thier Son and his new wife. “The property was great. I was a little disappointed that there was very small tubes of shampoo etc for two person stay over two nights and a request for fresh towels seemed to be an extra forty or so dollars. I never mind paying for accommodation so long as I don't have to supplement basics like shampoo or fresh towels, particularly as the nearest shops are about twenty minutes drive away. Nice stay
"Spicer’s guesthouse was lovely, with modern and comfortable rooms and the grounds were very pretty, with manicured gardens and wild kangaroos watching from a distance. The staff were friendly but maybe not always as attentive as they could have been. Given the guesthouse is the premium hotel of the Hunter Valley and was quite expensive I’m just uncertain as to what exactly we paid for. I think if you’re going to have a premium price you should be able to justify it in some way by distinguishing yourself from the competition but it was unclear to me if Spicer’s really achieved this. It was a nice hotel without being amazing or anything."
