“This was a romantic getaway cottage. The night sounds were enchanting. The host thought of every detail! They even have coffee stocked. Visiting with the pheasants was joyful. Be sure to check out the cloud forest sanctuary up the road ( reservations are a must. Also, the coffee plantation a little further. Free tours on the half hour, very educational. Unfortunately, the wifi was out, and my Hotspot reception was in and out, but really, we were one vacation. Mahalo!”

“During our short stay we were able to visit Volcanoes National Park, the Green Sand Beach close to South Point, go night snorkeling with Manta Rays in Kona, visit several beaches, and even drive up Mauna Kea on our last day in Big Island (night flight) - we could not have achieved this and more without staying in such a perfectly placed location, one with unique landscape on its doorstep (the local history of lava flows was truly fascinating). “This is a great place to stay to get away from it all! Close enough to Hilo to get back into the all of you want. We also wound up driving north around the island to the west side a bit more than towards Hilo. Just sitting on the porch and looking out at the sky & ocean was so peaceful. Wish we had better weather. Got 1.5 sunrises and one night starry sky out of 7 nights but, that was only the fault of Mother Nature. Still so peaceful in the rain. “The Pineapple Cottage is a lovely place - even better than we expected. The lanai is just so wonderful, the swinging bed, the chairs, the view over the fruit trees and the ocean. “I loved the location of this vacation home. Updates from the photos as far as the kitchen is that the fridge is bigger and outside on the porch along with the induction cooktop. The grill was in great working condition. I really enjoyed cooking and eating outside on the porch. The view is spectacular. Jim was an amazing host and took the time to walk me around. “It is charming in a rustic way. It was smaller than we thought and the only heat in the living room and kitchen was a wood burning stove so we spent a lot of time and energy trying to stay warm. The first 2 days there was no live TV but a new spectrum box was brought in. Theresa, the property manager was very accommodating.”

“The plates were not clean, we had to was them with cleaning before we could use them. The personal was a bit rude, the only one who was nice was the frontdesk manager. The beds were bad, every time you moved in the bed they sound very loud!”
