“Lovely staff, very helpful and made this stay a really nice experience. Clean and comfortable room, this was all we expected and a little more. It does get a little noisy in the evenings thanks to a nearby karaoke or something. If you are sensitive I would not recommend.”

“This is a backpackers hostel so the facilities are basic. It is situated outside Drake Bay but there are bicycles available for guests to use or, alternatively, the manager can arrange for a taxi to take you to local destinations. He is also happy to arrange guided tours in the area. The garden around the hostel is fantastic for wildlife and there are local shops and cafes to get food.”

Then they showed us to three different rooms, the first two not being at all what we’d booked so we rejected them - the third was closest so by this point we just took the room. “The front desk welcome was stellar. They are also a tour operator so I was able to check-in and line up all my activities at the same time. Their chair at the front desk was great for a hot weary traveler arriving. The location is great. I got lucky and was put in a room by myself with a bunk bed at no extra charge instead of the 4 person dorm I’d booked as it had filled up. The cons here are that it could be better maintained and cleaner. I woke up at 5am to go on my tour and neither...
