“The home is charming, immaculate and amidst woods with no neighbors in eye or earshot. It is on a dirt road, so an awd vehicle is a good idea. A stream runs along the driveway. The Ottauquechee River is across the road. The bathroom is on the first floor, and bedrooms on the second floor. The smoke detector goes off if you saute on the stove. I recommend learning how to turn off a wired in smoke detector. You should open the kitchen window when you saute, because most of the smoke detectors...

“Lakeside location was amazing! The deck is nice place to enjoy some coffee or a drink. The house is stocked with lots of fun activities like books/dvds/games. Overall great place for a cozy getaway! The space is on the smaller side so good for two people or three at most.”

“Very cute lake house. Nicely updated, very clean. Good kitchen. Decent base if you want to see both Northern and Southern VT. We visited in April, when the lakefront was too flooded and the winds too chilly to enjoy the lake. Likely much prettier in the summertime!”

“We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves despite bad weather all week. The property is as described. The view was lovely and we appreciated how quiet the neighborhood was. We cooked most of our meals. The kitchen was well-stocked in terms of dishes, cutlery, pots & pans. The only potential issue is that the stairs to the 2nd floor bedrooms are very steep, as others have noted, and our dog wasn’t able to climb them. Other than that, the place was very comfortable and it was great to get away.”

“This was the second time we stayed at this cozy cottage on Mallets Bay. We love the location, close to Burlington, and the view from the cottage is gorgeous! Beverly and Gordon are friendly hosts and responded right away to any questions we had. We will most certainly be back again!”

“Location was awesome, house met the description and was comfortable. Stayed with dog and 3 kids. Doors (or walls?) were a little drafty in the winter, but heating seemed to be ok. Heated floors in bathrooms were really nice. Suggest more than 2 dishwasher tabs per renter. Basement is quite cold but we didn't need to use it for sleeping. Still, 5 stars, great property and would stay again.”

“While there are some things mentioned before that could be improved with new, this was a great stay for the price. The place was clean and well kept. A good value with plenty of space for us in between the basketball tournament games. We’d definitely stay here again next time.”

“Beds were comfortable and the 3 season porch was a great place to unwind. We enjoyed the view of the water from the house. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes. At night we could hear tree frogs calling on the other side of the road, which was fun. There's also a park nearby with walking trails, and a grocery store close by. Zachary's Pizza is also close and we had an excellent pizza there. It was about 20 minutes to downtown Burlington. A very relaxing place to stay, so glad we found it!”

“Linda Jane’s place is absolutely wonderful! The house was sparkling clean and had everything we could need for a weekend ski getaway. Also situated on a scenic pond in a quiet neighborhood. About 30 minute drive to Mt. Snow. Only thing to note, the cabin is a bit open concept, so Linda Jane kindly provided a divider to allow for more privacy between the downstairs bedrooms. We had a great weekend with friends and would love to plan a trip back!”
