“This is a beautiful, large home in a fabulous location, but we were frustrated to discover that, despite being advertised as "sleeps 10", it does not, in fact, sleep 10. In fairness, the listing only describes beds for 8, but we assumed that there was something not listed (pull out couch, air mattress, etc) for the last two. Sadly, there was not. The owners were responsive, but two in our group still had to sleep on the floor for our stay. There were also not enough plates or silverware, even...

“We booked 2 nights to view the eclipse lakeside and it did not disappoint! The photos online, although quite beautiful, do not fully capture the beauty of this place. Gorgeous views overlooking the Vermont mountain range and lake Placid. The house is well appointed with everything you need, small exception of the coffee maker. “Our son goes to UVM and felt like exploring the area beyond Burlington. This was the perfect location for us to make day trips to bike the Colchester Causeway, get fresh apple Cider, take walks by the lake and see Montreal. The cottage is cozy and cute with lots of thoughtful touches, including robes, slippers, toiletries, local snacks and more. Was also great to be able to bring our dog who our son no doubt missed more than us! Highly recommend!”

“Location to Sugarbush was short drive to mountain and town. House was very comfortable and hot tub on river was really nice extra. I’m sure would be nice also in summer and fall also”

“This rental was amazing! The house was beautiful and if this listing is available during the ski season, I will book this residence. We were comfortable and slept well here. My dogs came since we did come to the area for the solar eclipse. There is enough sidewalk and side streets to walk the dogs. I especially liked the fact all of the flooring in the house is a solid surface (no carpet) There is a general store called Singleton's, and we found lots of good food to purchase.”

“We had an amazing experience starting with the setting and lodging. The cozy cabin on the peninsula point on Lake Eden is lovely and the views and the cabin were wonderful. We had a stellar view of the eclipse. The lake was still frozen with fresh snow on top which added to the magical experience. Jim is a great host and quick answer to questions.
