    Our exquisite Edwardian English Library-style residence that transports you to the refined elegance of a bygone era. Adorned with the backs of 3,000 vintage law books from the esteemed library of a century-old local law firm, every wall tells a story, maintaining an English Library aesthetic infused with the DNA of Abilene.



    Step into a fantasy of opulence, where antique furniture, elegant chandeliers, and oriental rugs grace every corner, creating an atmosphere of timeless sophistication..



    The Space:

    The master bedroom upstairs is a sanctuary of luxury, featuring an upholstered leather King size bed and a private en suite bathroom.



    On the lower level, another bedroom awaits with a stunning iron Queen size bed, complemented by a hall bathroom that serves both the bedroom and the gracefully appointed living areas. A fully equipped kitchen stands ready for culinary endeavors, while the living/dining spaces beckon for gatherings and moments of leisure.



    Entertainment is elevated with a 60-inch flat screen TV in the living room, accompanied by another TV in the master bedroom for your viewing pleasure. Downton Abbey's strategic location places it just a short distance from downtown, the Taylor County Expo Center, the Abilene Zoo, and Abilene Christian University.

Wonderful Decorations

We loved the Downton Abbey decorations. It made for a wonderful diversion to a normally bland stay at a hotel. The neighborhood was quiet and the house was conveniently located near ACU where we attended graduation ceremonies.

Secret hideaway in Abilene

The place looks like any other Texas duplex, but when you walk in to the high ceilings in the entrance with the place decorated just as the pictures show, it was very impressive. They provided all expected amenities like washer/dryer and dishwasher. The beds were comfortable and the place was very quiet and comfortable. The host was very receptive to questions before and during the stay. Location was quite convenient with lots of options for food, gas, and travel.

Trip

Did not want to stay in hotel so opted to find Vrbo and found one that was very unique and fitted our needs. Located in a very well kept and quiet residential area that was very near our activities in the Taylor County arena. Very unique walls covered in books and lovely decorations throughout the house. Will definitely book again if Abilene. Our house was very accommodating as we arrived earlier than expected and she allowed us an earlier check in!!

Enjoyed stay - wife not so much!

I enjoyed staying at this property. The decor is very unique although may not be for everyone. According to my wife the appearance is a cross between a gothic escape house and Harry Potter. It's dark and some of the lighting was glitchy. It is a duplex. The neighborhood was fine and the location was convenient. The downstairs toilet wasn't working - and owners were not able to get it fixed during our stay. Also the furniture in the living area is very formal - not really amenable to lounging.The beds are comfortable and the water pressure is excellent in the showers - two things on the top of my list!The stairs to the upstairs bedroom suite are wood and pretty steep.
