Located in one of the most picturesque areas of Aci Castello, with a breathtaking view of the Faraglioni of Acitrezza and the charming Cyclopean Riviera, LA CASETTA AZZURRA is a 19th-century property that still retains the charm of an old Sicilian fisherman's house. LA CASETTA AZZURRA is a two-level independent structure, made comfortable and functional in all seasons after careful renovation. On the raised ground floor, there is a small courtyard leading to the entrance of the house, a kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, a laundry room, and a double bedroom with a small balcony. On the first floor, you’ll find the living area with a double sofa bed and a large flat-screen TV, featuring a high wooden ceiling decorated by hand and lit by four skylights and two windows overlooking the small harbor and the Faraglioni of Aci Trezza, a fishing village immortalized by Verga. A few steps up from the living area, you reach the little terrace, an ideal spot for breakfast, an aperitif, or a cozy dinner. LA CASETTA AZZURRA offers sea views, a terrace, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and heating. We’re located on a charming little street in the old town of Aci Castello, within walking distance of the famous Norman castle built around 1075, the small harbor, and the fishing village of Aci Trezza, with its iconic Faraglioni rocks made famous by the epic tales of the Cyclopes told by Homer. Being so close to the sea gives you the chance to take a swim or rent a canoe and windsurf gear at nearby facilities within a short walk. Aci Castello is full of bars, cafés, and typical little restaurants where you can sample the local culinary delights. Supermarkets, bakeries, and mini markets are easily reachable on foot. The area is well connected to the city of Catania and the main highway junctions: about 9 km away, following the beautiful coastal cliff area, you can reach the city and all its attractions. Catania Airport is around 12 km away. The nearest train station is Aci Castello Cannizzaro (2.5 km).
