    The large and quiet holiday home extends over two floors and is located in the heart of the romantic mountain village of Kritsa at 287 metres above sea level, near the important town of Agios Nikolaos on the north coast of eastern Crete.

    The approx. 90 m² holiday home has a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, a large fridge with freezer, an electric cooker with oven, a toaster, a kettle and a coffee machine. In the cosy living room you will find a TV with CD/DVD player, a music system and a dining table with seating for up to seven people. A sofa bed (140 x 200 cm) offers additional sleeping space for two people. Two air-conditioned, bright bedrooms offer sleeping space for 4 people (1 double bed 140 x 200 cm each). In one bedroom there is the option of an additional travelling cot. All bedrooms can be locked with doors. The bathroom, which is large for Crete and very bright thanks to the window, has a shower tray and washing machine and is located on the upper floor. An additional guest WC is located on the ground floor. Two mobile fans can be set up as required. The holiday home is ideal for families with children and couples. Board games, card games and a selection of books on the history and culture of the island will enrich your stay. We provide you with a freezer and ice packs for your excursions. The rental price includes the final cleaning, WiFi, electricity and water charges, laundry package (towels, bed linen) and hygiene package (soaps, washing-up liquid and detergent, tea towels, toilet paper). The house is non-smoking, but smoking is permitted on the two sun terraces.

    The holiday home has two large roof terraces with tables, chairs and a parasol for shade. There is also a charcoal barbecue on the upper roof terrace for a communal barbecue evening. You can start and end the day wonderfully on one of the two fantastic roof terraces with a breathtaking view over the village with an impressive view of the sea and the rocky backdrop. You can park your car directly in front of the property for loading and unloading. There is a free public car park along the road about one minute away. Pets are not allowed.

    The beautiful natural stone wall in the living area with the old olive wood lintel exudes a rustic and cosy charm. The very well developed and easy to drive New Road connects Kritsa with the international airport in Heraklion (Iraklio). Numerous car hire companies have offices here in the arrivals terminal. This route along the Mediterranean Sea and through impressive rocky gorges takes around 50-60 minutes by hire car.

    The holiday home is located in the authentic Greek village of Kritsá near Agios Nikolaos. Numerous tavernas with delicious Mediterranean food and shops for daily needs, souvenirs and handicrafts are just 45 metres from the house. In the shopping street you can buy olive oils, textiles, leather shoes, leather belts, natural soaps, ceramics and much more. Another shopping opportunity, a branch of the discounter Lidl, is about five minutes' drive away on the way to Agios Nikolaos. There is an ATM in the main street of the village, about 100 metres from the house. Kritsá is famous for its narrow, picturesque and winding streets and authentic village houses. The village is waiting to be discovered during evening strolls through the maze of alleys. Typical Greek houses and churches and mighty old olive trees exude a special flair and provide motifs for dreamlike holiday memories. Kritsá and its surroundings are rich in sights and attractions. Two official beaches with the finest sand (Almyros and Ammoudara) are just ten minutes away. Sunbeds, umbrellas, jet skis and other water fun activities await bathing holidaymakers there. Other sandy beaches and bays with azure blue, clean sea water and romantic rocks are just 15 minutes away. The well-known seaside resort of Elounda is about 20 minutes away by car. Those interested in archaeology can visit the ruins of the ancient city of Lato, which dominated the surrounding countryside on a hill just outside the village. The harbour of this trading town was located in today's Agios Nikolaos. In general, the many excavations bear witness to the importance of the landscape around Kritsá during the Bronze Age at the time of the Minoan civilisation, whose palaces are known worldwide. The most famous is the palace of Knossos, home of the Minotaur, near the present-day capital Iraklio. But traces of medieval Venetian culture can also be discovered just a few kilometres away. The famous church of Panagia Kerá with its magnificent frescoes stands right at the entrance to Kritsás in the middle of olive groves. In addition to the rock faces, hikers will also be impressed by the Kritsá Gorge to the north. In some places, the gorge is so narrow that you can touch the two sides with your hands. A circular hike through the gorge is around six kilometres long. The Lasithi plateau with the Zeus Cave (Cave of Psychro) is only a few kilometres away to the southwest.
